w208 Manual trans coversion?

Anyone do this?

I have an ache for a third pedal in my coupe...

I have done a search but prefer a fresh perspective on this topic.

What car? 320? 430? 55? Chances are it will cost you more than the car is worth.

Well Worth the extra effort.. since i think my slush box is showing signs of its age....

chrisbala...can you post pics of your clutch and shifter?

from what I think, its a hydraulic clutch system gaining hyd pressure from the master cylinder, and the clutch pedal is W208 specific....

W208 specific shifter as well..

Custom Drive shaft as well....similar to the BMW world....

but what manual trans bolts upto the 430 motor?

If i can source these parts, id step upto the plate!

then again I also want to do "air bag suspension" as well...

CLK W208
trust me on this i tried it because i was running a turbo setup for a week and my 320 transmission couldn.t handle it for anything. so i took the turbo out to convert to manual first. you have to use a trans off of a slk 320 or c 230, change the ecu, extra pedal. cutting fire wall. pump for the cpedal. cut or chamge youre break pedal to make room for the 3rd pedal, new sgifter, cut around the shifter, clutch and a whole lot more plus reprograming the ecu. after all that you still have to do cutting around the trans housing to make it fit. and after all this work anod money it still wouldn.t bereliable. my mechanic would do it for me but he highly recomended me to just go witha 55 motor and do padel shift conversion. much chaeper and hell of alot faster.

E550 Coupe
i would think your closest bet would be the transmission from an SLK320...but it's not worth it man. if you really want a stick mercedes, sell it and get the SLK or a C.
