C55 Custom Exhaust Pic
This is what my VRP C55 exhaust system looks like before the final welds and polish. They are stainless steel 2.5" duals all the way back. Sounds great. Will post sound clip later. Frees up a few more ponies according to Vadim but final tune and dyno chart will follow...
I posted the Evosport CLK63 Black Series Custom Exhaust for comparison. Notice that the X is different. Mine has more a curve to it. Any thoughts on which one would flow better? Off course mine costs 1/10 as much as the EVO CLK BS exhaust. Both are stainless steel but mine has not been finished yet.
I also attached a diagram of a stock C55 exhaust to show you how Vadim's custom exhaust compares to stock.

Yes, stock mufflers but opened up to mate with the 2.5" pipes. Sounds very smooth at cruising speeds but when you step on it then it rumbles and growls with a thunderous exploding tone.

do you think you gained any power? cant wait to hear this soundtrack. is there any droning or is it comparable to just res-delete slight drone?
thanks for the post there has been a bit of a slump in performance mod threads. so this is nice. if you dont mind be asking what did this set you back? and BTW I want it!

I have a portable sound recorder so next time I'll record it from inside the cabin. I'll also post a sound clip while revving the engine while parked. I love it and the price was a LOT less than I expected but Vadim asked me not to disclose it. Probably less than the price of some pullies.
and btw..NO CELS..The car idles at 550rpm as quiet as a mouse at the off ramp after multiple hard pulls on the freeway in 5 mile stretches.

I just took it out for a freeway spin. It's definitely COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the res delete. It goes from a smooth rrrhhhuuuufff to gaaahaahh sound is the best way to describe it. The car also has a much more explosive acceleration from 5k rpm onwards due to the freed up air flow.

do you think a reputable exhaust shop could do it? and do you plan on any dyno runs? you are a true pioneer to say the least.

Use my pic as an example if that will help. Yup dynos will be in a few days or so when Vadim puts it on the rollers and begins another session of VRP tune.

Absolutely...I think you can get it done for about $600-$1000 depending if you want stainless or aluminized metal. Not much difference really.

Please post your setup!! I'd like to see how you got the 2.5" pipes to go right with all that stuff in the way.

To be honest, when my car was stock it sounded pretty much the same as after the headers, cams, cats and res delete so I was dissapointed with the sound. But after this dual exhaust, the sound changed allot as you can hear. The mufflers are stock so the X-pipe duals really define the difference. Not sure if I should swap out the mufflers next.
