After seeing this post and the pdf, I'm thinking that ALL of the DIY instructions this forum has produced should be edited and posted as pdfs. They are easily downloaded and stored on your own computer, easy to bring up when needed.

Great job!

SyrAMG,the guys at Garage 5 did the install without the benefit of the instructions this morning, but thank you for posting the instruction anyway. I am sure others will benefit from it.

They figured it out in no time and the C63 grille looks awesome! Will post pictures over the weekend.

For those fence sitters I say, just do it! You won't regret it.

Thanks for posting that link. I have printed out the file and will drop it into the box containing the original grill and hood star.

So, if the mood strikes me, I can reinstall the original parts for a few weeks, just to confuse the neighbors.

Would one of you who received the C63 style one-piece grill be kind enough to measure the diameter of the star?

Thank you!

The plastick is brittle. Caution when installing. Mine cracked on the corner already and had to glue it.

NOT HAPPY with the C63 style grille. For those of you who said quality was good- What are you smoking? The plastic IS brittle and flimsy compared to OEM and the chrome is crap. The trim doesn't even line up with the horizontal fins and you can see imperfections in the finished edges. The star definitely does not feel as substantial as my original. As far as fitment- mine never fit right. The bracket on the grille was hitting the radiator shroud and caused the top of the grille to stick out past the edge of the hood. I removed it and reinstalled it (thought maybe it was my install) but it wasn't. I got sucked in with all the excitement and now I am very unhappy.

But is it from the same seller where we get it? You have bought yours on Ebay, here in The Netherlands are also sellers who delivers them, but they arent the same as i have fron the GB.

Petje,

Is the top of your grille fully alligned with the hood?
Because Misterng was also in the same GB as you right?and if you see post #112 of this thread, he took pics from the above of the grille and I dont think it is fully alligned.
Thanks

I'm sorry, but if you had bothered reading what we said that's how it fits like the classic grile. the quality etc were already discussed about as well.

Good point! If you carefully look at FrankW's grille, the top part is not quiet alligned to the hood (same as mine), but I just realize that right side of my grille is sticking out more than the left side. Can anyone else confirms?

mine on the right is pushed in more because the hood's misaligned and pushes the grille in on the right.

your hood could be the opposite of mine which pushes the left side in. lol

what point on the "T" bar did you screw the frame down?
I have a feeling many installed it all the way in the back; promoting the front part to stick out.

I screwed my grille at the middle point on the T bar.
I dry fitted the grille by lightly screwing down the "T" bar and closed the hood to see if its aligned properly.

Not quite sure that I understand you. It's only 1 point at the T bar that you can screw down. Where is the middle and other points?

the T bar has 2 screws that are attached to the body.
the screw holes on the T bar is oblong so the screws can be in place
at various points. some people probably screwed the T bar down at the far top

heres an example: "( )" represents the hole size; "O" represents screw down point

Center alignment (.......O.......)
Far top towards engine (...........O)
towards grille (O..........)

this maybe the reason why its sticking out

Thanks for the explaination. If I remember correctly, mine only have 1 hole in the middle but will double check when I got home tonight.
