EUROPEAN DELIVERY EXTENDED WARRANTY PURCHASED

The whole purchase worked just they you told me. The only problem the dealer only sell that third party Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc that has a very low price. The BBB in Floridia has many complaints on them. I spoke to dealers in other states on my search for the MB warranty and many of them were also recommending Warranty Services, Inc.

The prices for the MB warranty has double since my last purchase in 2003. The only one with a good price is Mercury Insurance and the only reason I would consider it is recommened by the Pentagon Federal Credit Union. I have had Geico that I never used on one an use on another with a little pushing to get most things covered. The Mercury does not get a good review from the board or other boards.

That is the story. The receiving dealer charged two hours of service plus a detailing just under $500.00. The selling dealer is paying without in dispute. The selling dealing has always kept their word and I would recommend them to anyone. I did not find any game playing their.

I am still on the search for a good price on a 7 year 100k MB extended warranty.

Extended warranties can only be purchased at the time of sale on new cars.

Bad luck I guess...

That is not true you have about eleven months and a limited amount of miles before you can purchase a new vehicle warranty. There are many after market companies that will sell you a warranty at any time at point of sale or a few years later. I can verify what they will cover or if you will be able to collect a reasonable amount. The only problem now is that MB prices has almost double since my last purchase of a warranty. Many MB dealer are using third party warranty companies because of the price of the MB warranty and I am sure the commission are good from these third party companies.

Unless things have changed, you can buy the MB warranty at anytime your car is under the 4 yr original warranty. At the anniversary of your purchase, the price of the warranty goes up, 10% I think. Although, things may have changed. As others have mentioned, there are some dealers who will discount the MB warranty 10-20%. Any dealer in any state can sell it to you. The transaction is taken care of over the phone.

That said, I purchased my extended warranty from www.warrantydirect.com. They have great reviews and my state insurance commissioner's office said they are well funded. Although my local dealer doesn't sell them, the service manager told me they are super to deal with and has never had a problem with a claim. The price was $1800 less than MB and even covered the phone. My wife recently has an$1400 repair on her van, the shop said they were paid w/2hrs of submitting the claim.

Let us know what you select.

The only third party that I would consider is Geico. Must you must continue to be insured with them or your coverage is lost. So that is out. I can't remember one these warranty companies went bankrupct shortly after I purchased one for a family member. And start up again I think using the same name and the old policy holder are still in court.

The only problem with MB warranty is the price has double. My 2003 MB is still good just had warranty work without any problems or questions.

I will consider them only on your recommendation. All the information you have posted and given to me in the past has been correct. I will give MB a couple of shots from some private messages. If no deal will go to your recommendation. My son in law had them and he was very happy with them.

I do not understand how the selling dealer "does not offer MB ELW"??? I would speak to the F&I manager and tell them you want to purchase it.

How hard of a decision can that be:

1. Make no $$$ and have customer purchase warranty elsewhere...BAD
2. Sell a good warranty with less profit in it.......

About whom are your comments directed dude, MB, aftermarket? There are a lot of deductible/coverage options to suit any taste. MB coverage is expensive, but I gues so too are the repairs.

Whatever the direction, there are always discounts! What's your experience with pricing for your car?

BTW, I'm still trying to figure out what Chicago service station has the diesel at $5+ you're talking about in other posts!

I think that $5,000 for MB Warranty is a hard sale. The dealer where I purchased the car may have dropped the MB Warranty because the customers felt it was to expensive. Other dealers that I have called did have MB Warranties and they could sense that I taught the price was high. We do have another warranty that has the same type of coverage that is a lot less by a very good company?

There are many other warranties available.
Geico I think the deductible is about $300.00 and about $120.00 per year you must be a policyholder. A representative from Geico is usually sent out before authorization is approved. The warranty can be transferred to another party that carries Geico only,

Mercury offered by some credit unions not very many good reviews. I think there is only one transferred for a fee allowed. The prices are reasonable.

Edmunds and KBB also recommends third party companies. I had one go bankrupt on me. I am not sure that I want to take that chance again.

I've heard Warranty Direct is a good choice, seems very solid and no negative reviews it seems.

Also, my Car was CPO'd but for the extra 2 year option which they charge $3K for I knocked them down to $1,500

I tried really hard to get an MBUSA ELW on my E320 CDI and called my local dealer and they told me it was not available, which I knew was not true. They clearly make more money from the third party warranities because they kept telling me that the warranty was was a Chrysler warranty (which is obviously no longer associated with MB) and the MB warranty was not available. Another dealer quoted me 6k for 7/100k and finally another was willing to sell the warranty at a much more reasonable price so I bought it. All of these dealers were MB dealers, of course. It's absurd they will not sell you something that you WANT to buy.

There has been a change at MB if the warranty is not purchased within the first thirty days there is a 15% surcharge.

I got a couple of quotes near $6,000.00 and I was told about the 15% surcharge.

I had to call MB yesterday morning on another issue. I asked about the 15% surcharge and the representative verified the information.

Check out warranty on edmunds.com for MB. There are a couple of dealers listed there that may be helpful with a good quote. If they thirty days has expired you are going to be hit with the 15% surcharge.
