There was major gains in MID power range with the 20" rims.

With the factory 16" rims I could spin tires, and power was in the Lower to MID range.

I have not been on the highway yet so I don't know what the gains of upper power range is like.

I will get a dyno in the next few weeks.

OK, so where are you hidding the fogger nozzle? My guess is behind a bend on the intake plumbing . . . .

Oh my... Looks good, great in fact!!! Kinda looks like the one I'm working on for mine.

The only advice I can give you is to ditch the metal tubes or wrap them with a reflective material, because they will be subject to heatsoak even when the car is moving. I tried using metal tubes in my first iteration and my IAT just kept climbing.

What's up man. I'm still going to get wit you as soon as I get an answer back from PowerChip. According to their FAQs it should be no problem so I'm thinking they will adjust their parameters.

The AirIntake piping is made of intercooler grade pipes and there is no heat issues that I noticed. The pipes seems to cool down very quickly, also there is still the open port blowing air in onto the pipe where the old air intake connected too. With that being said and in my observation: The amount of cool air flow velocity or CFM should offset any heat issues from the engine and keep the pipes relatively cool.

Me being an IT guy an IT analogy or similar principle would be how a CPU in a computer is cooled. A CPU Fan sits on top of a Heat sink which sits on top of the CPU itself. The CPU is cooled by a rated amount of CFM from the CPU Fan, if the amount of CFM from the Fan is miscalculated or if the CPU Fan fails then the CPU would over heat and melt right through the motherboard. When I started in IT I was a repair tech from Laptops, Computers, Printers, Servers etc.... up until 2005.

FYI: The air filter sits right down by the front bumpers diffuser behind the fog light.

Let me know, I know you have mad experience with air flow. Layman's terms Please

This intake uses a dry intake filter, any will work.

Except these tubes don't have any heat sinks, so the best way to control temps is to keep the heat away from the surface as much as possible. What I did was take an external temp sensor and recorded what the temps at the filter and used my data logger to record the IAT's in the engine. So even on the coolest of nights, while I was driving, the intake air temps would just keep rising while the ambient temps stayed the same.

I then measured my finding against the stock airbox, which pretty much stayed at a set tempreture all the time.

Got it, good info
I was at a car show this past weekend and most of the cars were tuned Fast and the Furious looking cars with some mad crazy engine tunes and I wonder why they did not have there pipes wrapped and their air filters were sitting right in the engine bay exposed to all the heat as well. I did not have time to take pictures because I was too busy showing off my car and doing translations.

I often wondered the same thing myself, but like you said, it could be type of piping your using vs. what I was using. Either way, great job!!!

Because you were at a car show not a race track

I have similar piping and I deifnitely want to get it wrapped. Next time you go for a drive and after you have th ecar parked pop the hood and touch the intake tubing. It will be super hot. Not good for performance. Wrapping them doesn't look good but it will keep the IATs cool.

I'm going to try some DEI high temp silicone spray next and see if that does anything to help.

Now it is making sense thanks. So I guess in a sense they are Posers

So how much more performance gains are we talking about?
What do you recommend? Any pipe cover?

Let me know how it goes. Will headers take away from the low end? I'm putting some money aside.
