Usefulness of Service DVD
I recently purchased the Service DVD for my 05 CDI. I am posting an example of the data that is contained in it. Once the DVD was opened up, I sent the page to Microsoft One Note, then saved it as a Word Document, then converted it to an Adobe file, using Acrobat Professional, to be able to upload it to the forum. This is just an example of the DVD, which should not be distributed since it is copyrighted by MB. It is available for around $85-100, which anyone who has a Benz should be able to afford.

You do prefer a complicated approach. Why not install a PDF-printer to your computer, then you can directly print PDF-documents from your service DVD (but be careful with the MB copyright when posting more than a sample here on the forum).

Service DVD
It seems like the options on converting directly to a .pdf file are not available on my computer when the DVD is playing, probably a protection by MB. I just used the above mentioned devices to show forum members the usefulness of the DVD. At home, if I needed to use it, I would just take my laptop out to my garage and display it, or print a hard copy on my printer.

Diesel Benz is talking about a pdf utility such as "CutePDF" which is freely available and works as a printer driver. Just install it and select it as the default printer before starting the MB DVD, then everytime you want to print something, you'll get a message box asking you to name the pdf file. I use it all the time and it works great.

Service DVD and Windows 7
I haven't been able to get the service DVD, which works on my Vista 32 bit system, to work on Windows 7, a 64 bit system. I have tried a few emulations, but the Whip viewer won't let me view the file. I sent MB an email, but they are notoriously slow to respond. Anyone get it to work with Windows 7?
