Just purchased a 2018 GLC 63 from a Mercedes dealership (11K miles on the car).

Yes or no to purchasing a Mercedes extended warranty?

I don't know exactly how long I'll keep the car.

If you shop around you can get the MB ELW much cheaper than what most dealers charge. I have seen markups as high as 100%!


I am about to buy my second 7/75 ELW from Jeff Jackson at Tafel Motors. His quotes have been substantially less than the local dealers.

If you aren’t sure whether you will keep the car or not, might as well wait until closer to when the original warranty is up. Sounds like it’s a non-CPO vehicle, so I’d personally just wait. Actually, I probably would just find a good Indy mechanic and put the money that would buy the warranty into a MM account and self insure after the warranty is up, but that’s just me.

Mr. J’s way isn’t bad either if Jeff or any of the other dealers on here selling ELW’s gives a good price. I just see so many exceptions in warranties that they are almost useless. Perhaps MBs are better.

I'm in a similar case, bought my '17 with 9k miles. Im just going to wait until warranty is close to expiring then shop around if I still have the car.

Who should I be talking to about an extended warranty?? I want a mercedes oem warranty, not some 3rd party plan. I'm at 25k miles and I figure I would get the extended warranty next year. I do 20-25k miles per year so I would need a high mileage, low years warranty. Something like a 100k /5 year I think
