A45 smoke issue!!

Newbie.... purchased an a45 in Jan this year 2014 model.
I have had an issue when driving for about 2miles in sports mode in traffic running about 1.5 rpm. For some reason it bellows out white smoke for about 10 sec and then clears only on the left exhaust?? Has anyone else had this issue?? Mercy have told me to monitor it. But I am booking it in for a health check asap..
My theory is that it's dumping fuel because I've not put my foot down for pop bang...
Any sensible thoughts welcome.. cheers in advance.

White smoke would normally indicate water has got into the combustion chambers and faulty head gasket is one possibility. But check for any signs of oil in the water top up tank and water loss and/or if the oil filler cap has a grey residue.
