GTR AND GTC PROBLEMS AND ISSUES-OWNER POSTS ONLY PLEASE

Ok buddy..... what horse do you have in this race again?
It sucks cars are delayed, but don't act like you just got dropped to the bottom of the transplant list.
Proper way to handle this is to speak with the management at the dealer and express that the maintenance package is not enough. But do it privately and come to a point where you are happy. How about a S65 loaner till your car is delivered in addition to the maintenance etc.
Also, talk about walking away. I am sure they will have some trepidation since the eoy is coming.
These are first world problems, I have probably had more exotic cars delayed/with problems than you have owned normal cars. It doesn't bother me.

A S65 loaner are you kidding me those are for the special people not little guys like us. Maybe you can make some calls and get everyone a S65 while they’re GTR’s are being fixed.
Yes, being so special, I’m sure you have owned more exotic cars than I have owned normal cars.

Same here—on lots of forums. Except I've actually gotten MORE help and positive vibes on this forum than on any other. Gun forums? lol they are filled with the most hateful, angry people I've come across. I've gotten PMs here from people actually willing to help me find a car. Very grateful for this site.

[QUOTE=California John;7285439]How about you come over and help drain my kegerator?
I would really like to. We could do some serious damage to that keg but unfortunately I am a “right coast “ guy so the drive home would be a *****!!
Thanks very much for offering.
Best Regards

I’m very sorry for not posting an update to this issue but I have been “visiting” my GTR at my dealer virtually every day since it was delivered from BRUNSWICK to my dealer OCTOBER 10th.
Here’s what I know as of late this afternoon;
There is a fix kit that is starting to become available as of today.
The kit consists of a new motor assembly encapsulated in a new waterproof plug and play compartment AND a software update that, as of late this afternoon is in the process of being loaded out on the MB server.
The existing factory installed assembly has a depression/bend in the center edge which may have been/will be an entry point for water to enter and cause motor failure initially or over time.
R&R Replacement, software update, testing/operational validation time is estimated to be about 1-2 hours end to end based on my first hand observation.
I can tell you first hand the dealer isn’t misleading you on his “no known current information” statement and of course I don’t know when yours will be made available to you.
I will FINALLY pick up my new GTR sometime tomorrow after the new software is loaded and tested.
I think that if my GTR and the Ft Lauderdale GTR which also came out of Brunswick are repaired and work as intended (we’re the test mules), the rest of the GTR’s and GTC’s (est: 500 GTR and GTC’s) will be operational very quickly. I certainly hope so I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.
In your thinking, please remember the categories identified in the STOP SALE bulletin;
GTR’s delivered to customers
GTR’s at the dealer and not delivered.
GTR’s currently at the VPC’s
GTR’s on the water
Thanks again goes to PM feedback from several member GTR owners here after I first posted this issue, a lot more is now known and has been incorporated in the fix.
Best regards
Jerry

you get a 1500 $ or so credit if you use within 12 months when purchasing new car. Also, private lounge members get 20% off exclusive of the factory credit.
hoping I can burn around in a GTR.

I did the Ron Fellows school when I got my Z06 and even though I’ve been doing track days for years, it was still informative and fun. A great discount also.

UPDATE AS OF FRIDAY 10/20 4:00PM EST
The software update was finally loaded out to the MB Secured server and made available to the dealer AMG Tech.
A brief download and test was performed with the new software and the GTR officially passed.
All of the test results and info was loaded out to the MB server under my VIN number and POOF my car was releasd from the STOP SALE.
I just may have the only GTR on the road in the US with the latest software and hardware fix installed.....briefly.
MY RECOMMENDATION TO OWNERS:
Even if you have had the software tested in your car and it worked, I would recommend returning to the dealer and asking them to remove the factory installed spoiler and carefully examine it looking for the bent edge and any water.
You should be able to secure replacement parts rather quickly now that they are ramping up.
Only 499 GTR and GTC’s remain to fix now.
Best regards
Jerry

Where is all the excitement?
Where is all the anticipatory winkle squeezing?
I thought given the fact that my car is one the first stop sale ones to be release other owners would farting confetti at the prospect of finally getting their cars.
I know I did.

You know the worst thing about the cars not being released months go is the fact that none of you had a chance to get the beasts on a road course. We’ve all read the reviews from ‘professionals’ on a road course with the car, but man how I’d love to hear how other ‘weekend warriors’ thought it handles.
Oh, the second worst thing is the fact that since the initial batch weren’t delivered in early summer, new ones couldn’t be ordered. Or at least that’s one of the reasons for no allocations currently from a Sales Manager at a local MB dealership.
