6 point harness for GTR?

Am considering GTR for primarily track-duty. Does anyone know if the support bar can be used for a harness? If not has anyone added a harness bar? Anti-sub bar?

Thanks in advance.

The horizontal bar behind the driver is to keep things in the back from scooting to the front. Definitely not for harness anchor. It is not a structural member from what I understand.

You will need a roll cage and harness support. The cross bar in the GTR is decorative and not structural. The angle is too low anyway.

It will require modification. I know there aftermarket supports for Porsche . I’m not sure there is a big market for the GT family. Not enough around ; certainly, even fewer will see real track time

That is some serious kit.

As I think about it perhaps he really doesn't need a cage, et al. What many of us think about "track duty" is what others call time trialing and doesn't involve passing in corners and "real racing." Many organizations don't require a cage and roll bar if you aren't wheel to wheel racing. Not sure what this fellow is thinking about. Even in my racing days in SCCA racing open wheel, no one had a cage - just a roll bar. Modified production vehicles did of course. That is what this car would be if he were in actual racing. We'll see what his comment is.

Well, if he's not really racing and just hot ******* at the track, he doesn't need 6 point restraint.

My GTR has roll bar and 6pt. However, Christian Gebhardt set the Nurturing lap time in a GTR with no roll bar or 6pt harness.

Indeed, I tracked a GT3.1 for 2 years with no roll bar or 6pt until I saw a guy put a GT3 into a wall at 160 kph at Spa after making a simple mistake. Since then, my two track cars, a GT3.2 and the AMG GTR, both have roll bars and 6pt. So its a personal preference thing.

So how's about you post some details of your setup and help the rest of us out here? Eh?

Agree, would love to see where you two sourced the half roll bar and anti-sub bar.

As far as wanting one is concerned, it is not only far safer but also more comfortable as a driver to be in a 6-pt with a HANS-like device. Looks like the GTR is an excellent track car (other than being a little heavy).

Thanks again for the info.

fun ones.
GTR cage and 4-points is rubbish!

shoulder holes are too low on recaros, nothing lined up, fouls trim etc. Standard belts are left flapping.

Would be interested to hear how above poster has 6 points in his? There’s no centre mount. Seat needs retriming or swapping, standard belt buckle removed etc.
