2014 Lotus Evora S
Long time no speak!

I see that several of my old cls amg friends are now posting on the GT S forum. Are you all considering one? Nice! I have tried one the other day and my short test drive started to revive my amg love. Although I liked the CLS at first, it failed to keep me engaged over time and I then switched to a Lotus Evora S, one of the most engaging cars I've ever driven. I can't see myself parting ways with it so I may consider adding instead of replacing. The driving experience of the GT S is quite different, love the engine and sound, the fact that you almost sit on the rear axel and the styling in general. The handling and steering don't come close to the Lotus but they suit a driving style that is relax and exciting at the same time. In a different category, I'm also quite keen on trying the upcoming McLaren 570. I'll let the idea simmer over the winter. Let's see what happens.

I've become so immersed in the sports car mindset these days that I decided to create a site offering unique gear and accessories for sports car drivers. Not the track stuff, I mean the spirited driving stuff. Driving gear is not something really defined in the market and its so hard to find. The whole project is much more a hobby than a business really. The fun for me is to find these gems from those small manufacturers here and there (mostly in Europe) and post my findings on the website with stories on the blog. I tested the pilot version of my site with my new Lotus friends (at least one of them is posting here too!) which led to a number of changes. The site is now live at driversgearbox.com. I want to get something a bit broader by the Spring. Between now and then, I'm looking for additional input and feedback on content as my idea is still evolving. Is it useful or at least entertaining? What's missing? What would you do differently? If I get enough comments on this thread or on the feedback section of my site, I'll do a draw of a pair of driving shoes on time for the Holidays. How's that?

Don't want to bother you with my new hobby though. I included a post in the Vendor Classifieds section. But I would really value your views if you feel like it. Thanks I'm advance for your help.

Yes, I am seriously considering the GTS. Love everything about it and waiting patiently for the base version as I will tune it.
Also drawn to 570 but I think with options, it will be easily in the low 200s which would be twice a GT. It's new territory for McLaren and not sure how it will hold value. A 650S in one year loses $100K . No dealer in my area as well and I would put 10K miles per year.
As a side note, I am also drawn to the new Z06 but very concerned that I am not going to be happy with the downgrade for the interior and it seems to have overheating issues. I live in Florida and it would be my daily driver.
Regarding your new endeavor, I wish you luck. I think your idea is broad enough that you can really have many products there. How about custom cf smart phone covers? sunglasses? gloves? caps? Shirts? wallets? The sky is the limit

Thanks emeric! Good suggestions. My main idea is to offer unique accessories and I'd like to stay away from stuff we can easily find anywhere else. I love your sunglasses and gloves ideas as I'm sure I could find something that is quite unique there. Smartphone covers and wallets...if I can find something that is distinctive, for sure! Shirts and caps? I may not be able to get to "uniqueness" with that. Thanks for your input!

Good luck with your wait for the upcoming GT version! On my side, I'll wait for the 570 and figure out if it's worth what they want for.
