1/2 Mile Run

Now I have to ask the question, are the times being guessed based from a roll or from a stop. Huge difference.
I thought Shift-Sector was from a roll. Mojave Mile is from a dead stop.
Based upon my experience and not what I read, stock ZR1's/ Z06's are around 172 in the standing mile. Nissan GTR's low 160s. Clk63 Bs 162, FORD GT 180's.
293 MPH is incredible but must be from a roll or 4000 hp. Sorry for off topic.

I've only run at one Wannago fast event, it was their inaugural event in Peotone, IL not too far from where I live. I don't really have much pull with them. If it were Shift Sector or No Fly Zone event I'd be able to get you in no problem. Sorry!

I'll be in CLAYTON ga not Cleveland Ga on Sunday for the 1/2 mile event. GoPro in hand ( I've heard about all the failures) but thanks to Amazon we get a free pass.
I'll be sure to post whatever comes out.

BTW: I'm watching the ship enter the Brunswick Port with my new ride on it "As We Speak".
So tomorrow morning I'll be pressing the dealer as to when they will receive it and I can take delivery.
JUST LIKE CHRISTMAS MORNING...ONLY DIFFERENT!!

You will LOVE it there, even if you don't run.
I have driven in two (2012, 2013). 2012 was the first year WGF was at Clayton, so my SRT-6 wasn't a *complete* embarrassment. Now that the event has gained popularity, folks would be wondering why I would even bother with registering a ~135mph car.
In 2014 I didn't drive, BUT I still had an outstanding time simply being around so many amazing machines. Smelling race fuel, being in the mountains, eye candy walking around, and the visceral feeling of being meters away from a 200mph pass at full chat... it's worth every second it takes to get there.
Photos attached from 2013... My car was really struggling (horrendous tune) and still ran 133. 2012 was faster for me, despite having less power. That was also the year that I beat a BMW M6 out of the hole, and he never could run me down before crossing the 1/2-mile mark. THAT surprised even me.
TL;DR -- You're going to want to go every year once you see it in person. Clayton is THE best venue, as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I'm ready to rock and roll. They just announced they will have 1/4 mile stamps as well on our slips which is cool.
Turns out picking Sunday was key, as Saturday weather not looking good.
On the 22nd I'll be here, whatever you want to get into. I'll call you weekend before.

Great day at Heavens Landing in Clayton Ga! There were all kinds of cars and car nuts out there. Great fun.
So here's my slip
I'm satisfied with that time, as traction again was an issue. I did run a Huracan and I was 1 mph faster in both 1/4 and 1/2. He was not happy that car Will jump at start but I crawled closer until end.

Gotta give it to Jim Brady who said under 155. But you did say you would run 130 in the 1/4...
I ran 130 with the Weistec tune. Are you tuned? I thought you were. Hot day?
Hope you had fun. I'll be running a 1/2 later in the year here in Oregon. You've given me a goal to shoot for. (I also hope to prove Jim wrong )

You'll get the traction thing worked out I am sure.

One of the highlights of the day was the drive up to Highland NC after event. The roads are amazing and twists hard upward. The GT was up to the task as the throttle response and fast turn in was amazing.
A buddy of mine drove on way down couldn't believe how responsive the power was and how easy it was to drive stupid fast. He's had all kinds big Hp cars.

Once your GT was in the VPC how long did it take for your dealer to receive it?
I am hearing unconfirmed noise that MB may sit on upwards of 250 GTR's at the VPC until a mystic "late June" launch. NOT GOOD!!
Most if not all of these GTR's are sold!!
If this turns out to be true and not rumour control, we're talking upwards of
$50 million in deferred revenue that is essentially dead money for over 6 weeks--VERY VERY BAD BUSINESS MODEL!!
JRCART would be having a cardiac arrest right about now.
I am trying to run the real story to ground and would appreciate you asking your dealer what they know.
Best Regards

What's significant is that NO GTR'S Have been delivered to date. Many have been in the US at the MB VPC for over 2 weeks now with no answers forthcoming.

Check the DA as well, that airstrip is already thousands of feet up. When I ran in 2013 the DA was like 3800 feet... huge power killer.

Of course this assumes they have a fix in hand.
Time will tell......

Nope, remember, I predicted these delays. As I posted in another thread my last 4 AMG's have had significant delays ranging from 30 days to over 90 days once they arrived at US ports. I told you guys there would be big delays as usual.

I'm sure it's just human nature to try to maintain a positive out look and keep a "it could never happen to me" attitude. Like I said my last 4 dating back to 2012 have had significant delays, that's just the way it is AMG these days I suppose.
I suppose at the end of the day if they are being delayed for fixes and re-work and everyone takes delivery of a trouble free car it will be well worth the wait but as you are all aware my GT-S was delayed and held at port and I still had a bunch of major problems. I am happy to report my GLA45 has been pretty much problem free.
