Weight of Pano roof
I keep trying to decide on a pano roof. I like the look, seldom use it. I heard it can add 200 lbs to the weight of the car!
Is it a must?

For sure it will be heavier..... but then how will you ever notice?
I guess that if you feel it necessary to offset the weight penalty associated with the options you would like to spec, then >600bhp is available for a couple thousand $/€

Sunroofs seem to add between 50 and 200lbs(+). I'm not convinced that the fixed glass roof in the GT/S will add 200lbs. However, unless you are going to track the car a lot... does the extra weight really matter?

Before we discuss the weight of the pano roof, what is your waist size? Are you eating a lot of carbs?
seriously, if I were ordering, I would have opted no pano and spent the money somewhere else. I would have figured less weight, lower center of gravity.
My car has pano. I'm glad it does. When the pano is closed the car feels claustrophobic.
Also the car has so much torque, I can't imagine you would feel any gain from deleting pano.

I ordered the Solarbeam yellow , Carbon exterior. No pano and standard Burmester. Geez. If I wanted sarcasm I'd talk to my wife. I was try to get others view pt.
i sat in a convertible with top up and it was dark. Albeit, the car was in s showroom.
Sorry if if I don't have s dealer with cars in stock to compare options . I'm trying to build on computer images only. I've never seen any other car xcept a selenite gray convertible and a white convertible. No carbon packages to check out, no stereo to compare and no solar shade to roll back.

No offense but shouldn't you have thought about the pano roof before placing your order? If you chose the most expensive color, why so stingy on the pano roof? If it really is the weight, then how heavy is your wife? OK, no more sarcasm, but you keep repeating the same question looking for a different answer that validates your choice of no pano roof.

I ordered it but I'm still waiting for build. My dealer told me I still have time to modify my order. I wanted to know about the pano roof. Frankly, I didn't want one but after sitting in a dark cabin of a convertible with the hood up, I second guessed it. My dealer doesn't have one for me to check out. I decided to ask you guys. It's not about the money .
I want to make decisions based on actual experiences.
Thanks for the help. Didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers.

Here's another way to explain it. The windshield isn't very tall. When you're the first person at a stoplight, you cannot even see the stoplight through the windshield without lowering your head and rolling your eyes upwards. That's how small and dark the cabin is. I don't know if I'm explaining it well but you will see.

The weight whatever it may be (doubt it is 200 lbs) should not be a concern: as another person posted, with an ECU tune you are above 600HP anyway so static weight fluctuations will be irrelevant; however, the PANO roof does make the interior less cramped feeling. It's pretty spacious inside but it is still worth it. Feels great and more open.

Deja Vu----would not have included it in a build because of "weight." So glad it was included in my car that I purchased. Love it.

I have the CF (Ed1) roof. Looks great from the outside but from the interior, I prefer the pano. Also, as stated previously, you don't want to be first in line at the stop light. I imagine that with the pano, traffic light visibility is better.
