Weistec M178 ECU and Exhaust Upgrades Now Available
We are proud to release the first of many products for the AMG GT. ECU and Exhaust upgrades are now available for your M178 equipped AMG GT and GTS!
Baseline numbers were very strong however big improvements can be yielded via Weistec ECU Calibration. More power and sharper throttle response while smoothing out the powerband gives the driver a great connection to the car.
For those seeking more power, great sound, amazing snaps and crackles out of those AMG exhaust tips, the solution is now here.
Our AMG GT Downpipe and Midpipe Upgrade utilizes 100% mandrel bent 304 Stainless tubing, virtually all restrictions are removed to give the M178 engine a quicker spool up time, increased power, and an improved exhaust note.
Couple this with our ECU Upgrade, And the power gains are quite impressive.
Our ECU Upgrade, and Exhaust System give you an even greater low end power and torque improvement, while boosting peak power levels from 480 HP and 454 TQ at the wheels to 551 HP and 620 TQ.

Amazing gains - I can only imagine what the track times are.... pricing is commesurate with the gains for early adopters. Pretty soon we will see every swinging dick aka tuner with a file. This is first run so I think its fair especially for the r and d invested in the the M178 and hp/tq gains.

Great work! I'm assuming MB wouldn't cover under warranty any damage to the drivetrain with these mods intact?

however, I am located in UAE, can you let me know how to install it?
and most importantly, is it detectable by Mercedes dealer when i send my car for service?
this is becuase if it is detectable by Mercedes dealer it will void my warranty.
can uninstall it before sending it for service and reinstall it after service?
please provide me with your expertise and feedback

WEISTEC - Professionalism, Responsive, Class-of-their-Own
I have to concur with the review of Weistec Engineering. Fortunately, I was introduced to them through an excellent AMG technician. After having their ECU upgrades on a series of cars, I had the pleasure of discussing their product(s), unofficially, with a senior factory representative at an AMG event who indicated affirmatively, smiling, when talking about "tuners" for Mercedes vehicles. Weistec was the only one given that positive an indication, and this guys knows the "players." Others in the market don't do the engineering, R&D nor have the technical expertise to achieve optimal results for the vehicles, like the Weistec team under Steve's leadership.
This is not a "add-on/bolt-on/piggyback" solution. Weistec is an integrated engineering solutions that don't push for numbers (while they are impressive) but preserve the around town functionality in normal driving conditions with a more response accelerator feel. When these cars are "driven" the responsiveness, feel and results are amazing, definitely developed to factory standards.
Their website and marketing is impressive, this is because the Team is passionate about what they do and stand behind their products. I don't typically endorse products or businesses, but this is a case of talented professional car guys delivering engineering quality that is developed in Southern California and delivered domestically and internationally.
If your near John Wayne Airport in Irvine, they are close by and have always been welcoming. Seeing their facilities and the projects in progress, instills confidence in their delivery and product.

Which I do BUT, is any of this CA smog legal? I don't want the hassel with pulling it back off and putting it back on at smog time.

I'm getting the tune this week and will report back this Friday when I drive it. I opted out of the downpipes at the moment since they were major $$$. Maybe that will be the next mod. ..
