I've read through the owner's manual and can't find the instructions on Race Start. Do we have it? I know my E 63 had it and it worked well.

Can anyone enlighten me if this feature is available on our model and how to initiate it if so.

Please see the instructions below for launch control of the Mercedes-AMG GT.

-> Depress the brake pedal with your left foot and keep it depressed.
- Pull and hold both steering wheel gearshift paddles.

- The RACE START Confirm: Paddle UP Cancel: Paddle DOWN message appears in the multifunction display.

-> Release both steering wheel gearshift paddles.

-> To cancel: pull the left steering wheel shift paddle.
or
-> To confirm: pull the right steering wheel shift paddle.
- The RACE START available Depress accelerator message appears in the multifunction display.

-> Fully depress the accelerator pedal.
- The engine speed increases.
- The RACE START Release brake to start message appears in the multifunction display.

-> Take your foot off the brake, but keep the accelerator pedal depressed.
- The vehicle pulls away at maximum acceleration.
- The RACE START active message appears in the multifunction display.
- RACE START is deactivated when the vehicle reaches a speed of approximately 50 km/h.
- RACE START is deactivated immediately if you release the accelerator pedal during RACE START or if any of the activation conditions are no longer fulfilled. The RACE START not possible See Owner's Manual or RACE START cancelled message appears in the multifunction display.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I had a E 63 that had Race Start and I used it many times. just forgot how to.

I tried it and it worked like a charm. So much fun. Just completed my 1000 miles break-in period.

Hi,

Probably been answered many times. I had an F430 F1 spider, and the race start setting could only be used 2 or 3 times before ruining the clutch! I never used it lol.

How about in the GTS, is there a limitation? Could I use race start daily if I so wished? Warrantied?

I believe that the Race Start in the GTS is much more durable than in the Ferrari.

It works very well and I think you could utilize it regular. I'm not sure about daily.
