Would you buy a 2016 GT S again?
Quite simply, I've seen enough negative feedback that it begs the question for those of you that purchased a 2016 – would you buy it again? In other words, would you recommend it to a friend?

Fantastic car. Love mine. And it's great on track if you're into that. But maybe I would move up to the new GT-R if I was buying again.

My first one was an absolute lemon, but I really enjoyed driving it when it was not driving me bonkers (10 dealer visits in 1 year - bad car and bad dealer).
I traded it for another one (with the track pack). Am loving the replacement (reliable) one.

Mine does most everything well while in some other sports cars you have to endure some sacrifices.
And after over a year of driving, I have seen just one other GTS on the road.

Excellent, 8 for 8 so far – thanks for the feedback all.
Thunder, curious if you were able to return under some lemon law or if you had to take a loss on the trade in? PM me if you'd feel more comfortable.
Thanks!

Gfunk, the GTS is the best car by far I have ever owned. I have a 2016 and it has performed perfectly. I expected the great looks, the great sound and the beautiful interior, but have been surpised by the awesome steering and handling. Ive had no suspension clunks or any other weirdness that you may have heard on the net. I drive it daily and take my kid to his school and summer camps with it. I have run 11.3 at the strip.
The stereo aint great, but if you turn the harsh treble down it works ok. I alos didnt like how the stock wheels filled the fenders- more offset needed.
Recently i read the C&D test comparing $200k junior supercars, R8, 570, 911. Take a look at their interiors, then sit in a GTS. That 911 interior looks very dated, to me.
The new GTR is pretty damn cool and faster, which is always good. I want one, of course, but i think in pictures the GTS looks cleaner and better. You should get one.

I ran out of patience and time, so took a $20K hit on selling back the "lemon" car to the dealer, but fortunately the replacement car was less well equipped so the net outlay was about $10K.

The handful of folks with negative feedback on this car have been pretty vocal in their discontent. I suppose that's human nature. When someone has a great meal at a restaurant they don't usually follow up with positive feedback, but are more than happy to oblige with negative feedback when the reverse is true. Bad news just travels faster lol.

There have only been a few on this forum shouting their discontentment with their purchase. The poll is proof that most owners are happy.
MB did it right with a recall on the drivesaft and with Jrcart by taking the vehicle back. 2016AMGGTS needs to follow that same process.
For the others it seems like issues are being resolved by the dealer. Maybe not fast enough but one has to follow the process if the car has minor issues.
There are far worse problems than the ones shared on this forum:
Remember the GT3 engine debacle.
I was going to buy a Z06 ILO GT but the unresolved platform issues are not being properly answered by GM.
