I wonder that if GTS had a tune, would have it stayed with 670.

No way....and I have a tune--- (I think you meant 675). The 675 traps over 135mph. Our best tune only cars are probably right at 130. I just don't see it.

Edit I think you meant the 570S which still should beat a tuned GTS but not by as much.

I meant the 675. Yeah 5 mph difference in 1/4 mile. What about 1/2 mile with no traction issues. ?

They run mid 160's (mph)---- GTS needs bigger turbos to get there.

Maybe I missed it, but looks like a 1/2 mile in the video? I know in a 1/4 mile ,stock for stock, the GT3rs will beat the AMG GTs easily, they're going 11:teens all day, run after run, I think the stock GTs is 11:40's ish. 1/2 mile and longer the more hp/tq just takes over. The GT3rs beats the new Z06 and ACR in a 1/4 also with 150 less HP, it amazes me that with only(I know, we're saying ONLY 500 now a days) 500hp and only 330+- tq the Porsche just puts the power to the ground, to 60' in 3.1.

11:teens would be a below average time for a ZO6. The best verified time I've seen is 10.4xx all stock with OEM tires. Z auto A8s go under 11 for people who have never raced before. I' m a soon-to-be GTS owner, so don't assume I'm trolling or a hater.

I was saying that the GT3rs is going 11:teens, not the Z06, hence the reason the GT3rs beats the Z06 in 1/4. The stock Z06 and stock AMG GTs should be right around the same 1/4 mile time, but after that they both walk the GT3rs easily.

Lots of inconsistencies in the video. First off is this a 1/4 mile or 1/2 mile? A GT3RS will spank an AMG GT-S in a 1/4 mile probably by a good 4 or 5/10th of a second, whomever was wheeling that Porsche is a chump.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse here, but if the GT3rs goes 11:teens and the ZO6 goes between 10.4 (the fastest) and 10.9 (common), then doesn't the Z win?? 11:teens is a bad run for a Z.

With the A8, stage I aero, and on drag radials, yes. 7M on OEM tires, 11.2-ish.

Sorry man, I've never seen a stock C7 z06 go in the 10's, if so then my mistake. On drag radials or slicks I could see this, but not on stock tires. I've only seen it in the 11:40 range stock set up. edit: and that is me actually seeing it at Atco dragway in NJ, stock C7's. Magazine times and actual times in the real world are a bit different. I got a real good look too(lol) because I raced the one in my E63s and he came by me at the end like a freight train. I ran a 11:48 at 123.7 and I think he trapped at 125.6ish at 11:40(could be wrong on exact numbers, don't have the slips at my office). We went through the traps dead even because I tree'd him.

Here is a cool article from Motor Trend, Z06 vs ACR vs GT3rs. In paragraph 5 it explains that they think the GT3 is better than the GT3rs as to handling, very interesting?? For you guys that are not fans of the GT3rs, it also explains that it is the only car that Randy Pobst lost control in and went off the track. But in regards to drag racing the GT3rs, there are some numbers in there that will show this video from OP is definitely a little off. Also, I really think the Hurrican will beat a 570s, but not in the video? http://www.motortrend.com/cars/dodge...he-911-gt3-rs/

Go to the link provided to see the chart at Post #255. (these times all required a specific verification process) There are MANY more sub-11 runs that people never went through the process to get on the list. 10.8xxx is fairly common on PSS tires. They've gone 10.2xx on drag radials. You are considered slow if you can't get your A8 under 11.0 at a good track with good weather. Again, I'm about to be an AMG guy, but I know what a stock Z can do all day long.

Whew, those cars are moving, pretty cool to see. Pretty easy to go fast with those cars(with a good driver of course) with bolt ons and a good tire, like the CTSv's, bunch of them at my local track making killer times also. Since you are into Vettes as well, here is a link to my friends car, you'll appreciate what it can do. http://www.superchevy.com/features/v...-dynos-beware/

True, no way a GTS would come close to the 675.
i have a 12C with a 650S tune (barely 20hp). I stand no chance with my Weistec W2 (usually gives me 2-3 car lengths and keeps on pulling)
GTS needs a turbo upgrade to beat the the 12C let alone the 675LT

I never quarter-mile'd my Z06, nor have I my GT S; I'm a road-course junkie. Looking forward to spring to see how the 'Benz compares to what my SCCA T1-prepped Z could do at the 'Glen. That car was seriously fast. However, it was built by a pro shop [Phoenix Performance/Joe Aquilante in PA.]. And I'm disinclined to mod the GT if no other reason than I don't have a reliable shop in my area [that I know of] to do the work. Therefore any comparison to the 'Vette will be skewed. But I'll treat its times as a benchmark if nothing else.

Fun stuff...

Ok facts then : JB C63s ran a 11:38 1/4.

And not sure why your missing this .....video was 1/2 mile. Looks to me like GTS had a lot more legs after quarter.

JRcart You're not helping your credibility with these kinds of posts. Neither does your claim that the GT S runs 11.9 1/4. Perhaps, if you've indeed run one yourself on a strip, that was your slip. It is not the slips achieved by road test pro's. The car in the hands of a professional tester does a solid 11.5, would likely do a tick under 11 on DR's, with the rear wing turned off.

I'm generally very skeptical about internet stats, too, but the verification process for the "Fast List" on that forum is overkill. It requires some combo of timeslips, video, witnesses, etc. before adding a name to the list. This process was instituted years ago to virtually guarantee credibility. I've never seen any dats on this list disputed since the process began.

I don't know much about the C7 Z06 other than its an amazing performer but I have heard from a few local owners (who are relatively skilled at driving) that the car can literally scare them at 60 mph These are all AT8 owners.

Is this what you have encountered too?
