2018 AMG GTR DOG UPDATE
The Admin over on the PL posted the latest GT DOG which includes some refinements to the initial version.
Most notable GTR refinements are;
-- The initial GTR order batch looks like they will be delivered in "the spring of 2017". My guess is that means mid to late March deliveries here in the US just like the Edition 1 GTS models.
--The external black trim mirrors, vent spear, front spoiler, rear panel and side rocker panels on all initial order GTR's only will be carbon fiber to go with the carbon fiber roof (JRCART will be pleased they finally listened).
-- The engine cover will be carbon fiber as well.
-- IF I READ IT CORRECTLY, the COMMAND screen will finally be touch. YEA!!!
-- There is a "app" and software for those who want to track or race their cars which includes camera video.
Supposedly you can "share" data with others via the app through the PL. Should be well used.
There is no MSRP announced yet.
Dealer order banks are open for ALL GT models.

Here's another scoop: rumor has it that there will be no black series GT.
Anyone closer to the mother ship that can confirm or deny this? or is this to boost people to buy the GT-R lol?

Damn if that's true I may need to put my new GTR under the car cover and wait to see what the appreciation is.
I'm in the first batch so my guess is I'll have a car by mid to late April.

Can you define initial order batch? I have the option for a spring delivery but I have to put in my order in by the end of the month. I am debating between the GTR, e63 amg S, and the r8 v10

First Batch Initial Dealer Orders--were made during the week of October 15th and the order bank was quickly closed that Friday.

May I add this depends where you live. Down here in SWFL, the sunshine is omnipresent and the roads are smooth.
I have not driven a new R8 yet so I have no opinion yet on which one is better but I currently have no issues with living daily with my GT

I know the roof is carbon fiber on the GTR, but will they all have the carbon fiber weave look? On all the pics I see of Green Magno, the roof has the carbon fiber weave. On the pics I see of Selenite Magno, the roof is the same color as the rest of the car. (but still made of carbon fiber)

Can't help with the DOG but I believe they all have the carbon fiber look. It does not show as much in the Selenite Magno because the colours are rather close

Just received the confirmation that I got my allocation for the GTR ... Was Up all night due to excitement like a little kid waiting for Santa Clause ...

Completely believe they waited for that cars price. The problem is once you spec out a GT3 with must-have items the car is $30,000 more easy. The GTR has very few optional items such as ceramic brakes the rest is mostly standard.

From what I hear only 100 cars are being released for the US market but not sure how true that is. Also not sure if they will produce any more but the word is that is the number for now. All cars are accounted for currently. MSRP is estimated at 160k plus options.....
