Well nothing new and same old bad habits from AMG management. Saw this LINK yesterday in the internet. Mercedes Benz AMG is launching yet another model code named AMG GT4. I thought for a while AMG was coming out with a mid-engine stick shift model to compete with the highly touted PORSCHE GT4. Only after reading it, is yet another variant of the AMG GT, which took the helm of "Flagship" model from the former and iconic SLS.
This AMG GT4 supposedly will compete with the PORSCHE Panamera. Hmmm...... Mercedes Benz already have the classic S-Class and the more vogue CLS-Class which is a 2+2 sedan which IMHO, if Al Capone was still alive he would be riding in it.
I await the S43 and the CLS43 and place an order to create a fleet of taxicabs or align with UBER for these high end 43 models.
Really? The GT version will now have a four-door version. At least PORSCHE my desired brand have not made a four-door 911.
wow. you sound like a fun guy. 2 years ago I had a c63 507 edition. Did I have a real AMG then...? I guess so... I guess if I didn't get that last raise and bonus I would still be legit.
Hello guynamedsean, hope all is well with you. YES the C63 Edition-507 is the only AMG in my stable right now and simply LOVE IT! I hope you still have it or did you get rid of it?

Great car. I really liked mine. Unfortunately, I was rear ended by a large truck while sitting at a red light. I not not have it anymore.
Hello emericr. Well the AMG GT if you look closely at the body contour mimics the 911.
If you look closely at the rear end of the Panamera, it is no where near or close to the rear end of the 911. Whereas this supposedly AMG GT4 is clearly a S-T-R-E-T-C-H AMG GT.
Besides Mercedes already have the classic S-Class and the Vogue looking CLS-Class, but why does AMG *****-out the AMG GT lineup when that is suppose to be the new flagship is what is mind boggling.
I know, it is all about the almighty dollar for AMG.

Yes, I understand your disappointment in the AMG brand.
What you need to understand is the GT is the only design they know how to draw. Short, long, wider, narrower, little engine, bigger engine , small grill, big grill but they all look the same.
They don't know how to draw & design anything else.
Just like the C looks like an E that looks like an S.
You watch, the CLS will soon be an E with a sloped roof.
Same sausige in different length. Just like Audi, just like BMW.
You pay $200k and it looks like a $30 k car.
You pay $30 k and you look like your driving a $50,000 cheap benz.
Built to a standard, not a price point.
Not intended to troll.
Just a sincere disappointment in the direction the brand has taken.
Its all factual. Models all look the same and only 2 real designs.

Couldn't agree with you more! AMG has done everything to run the brand into the ground.
I thought when they made the GT it was going to be similar to the SLS in terms of different versions, but clearly that hasn't happened.

I'm not making it up, its clearly stated in this Autocar article, link below.
The 43 should of stopped at the C or GLC levels but it seems every model will have a 43 so it's conceivable the GT 2 door will have one soon as well.

The 43 should have never had the AMG name period. I believe that the GT was only the second car (SLS) built completely by AMG making it somewhat special. Know they're going to sh## on that. Really why would this surprise me.

No I am not, and literarily I just got a call from my dealer trolling me to buy a 17 fully loaded they have in their way! with more than my regular discount LOL...
He told me that he did not know I sold my GTs until a couple of weeks ago so he though I might be interested in buying a new one. I have never been so glad to not take an additional discount in lieu of no sell note for six months.
According to him they have 9 in the lot now, 1 in customs and 2 in a boat.
I feel kind of sorry for them.
It would not surprise me if soon you could get a 16 for under 100k new! with no additional customer discounts from AMG.

My dealer has several as well. The 43 would really hit the value of the GT and GTS.

Its like you want 20 x C300 this month Mr. Dealer, then give me an order for a GT.... any model and I'll increase your allocation. Then dealer has to give the GT away or end up with with over stock. Hence, what dealer in his right mind with 9 in stock would order 3 more units.
Then of course Tobias claims our sales are way up on GT's

I am very disappointed with this new GT4 by AMG GT. The resale value KEEPS SINKING with these "Product Dilution", and 43 models on PRACTICALLY ALL MODELS. Truly PATHETIC of Mercedes Benz management to run the brand DEEP INTO THE GROUND! ��

I honestly do not know, but if my salesman is right and they have that many that is close 1.2 mil stuck in inventory with little hope to move soon... that is crazy isn't it?
But then it is AutoNation owned... MB of Seattle, Tacoma and Lynwood have 3-4 each. I would wander where these cars will go...? that is a LOT of GTs for sale in the PNW. Soon I will go to the Starbucks in Safeway and see a GTs doing groceries LOL.
While I tend to agree that the AMG badge should remain on top of the line models, I believe MB is using the Porsche playbook.
Everyone screamed bloody murder when Porsche came up with the Boxster, Cayman, Panamera,Cayenne and Macan. However the popularity of those models and the huge profits allow Porsche to invest R&D and create the 911 variants and the 918 as there is not enough people buying 911s to sustain it.
