Any non douche guys able to help with some more insight here? About to order the ed1 wing and am located in Australia where the idea of modifying cars can land you in jail, so dealers are even less helpful!

Cheers

I could help, but I'm a douche, so....

Actually, I cannot help. But I'm still probably a douche.

Pretty well, thanks. Took it to Eurocharged for a dyno and tune, last week, but haven't driven it much, since then.

I took off the trunk trim to take a look at the motor and limit switches for the spoiler. The blue connector is the power for the motor, the black connector is the limit switches (open and close). If you want to trick the car to make it think that the spoiler is always up, just jump the the black wire and the outside blue wire (not the middle blue one) of the black connector (left side chassis one) with a wire or a paper clip. Use electrical tape or heat shrink to secure it afterwards. Then keep the blue connector disconnected so the car doesn't try to power the motor and move the spoiler. Of course, make sure before you do these changes, have the spoiler in the position you want it to be in. Also, don't push the spoiler button inside the car or the car might try to close the spoiler and realize something is wrong.

To remove the trunk trim, pry apart the grab handle from the side closer to the front of the car. There's a little opening to pry so you can use a plastic trim tool. That will reveal two torx screws, undo them and then you can use a plastic trim tool to go around the entire trim piece to pry it free. You'll need to disconnect two connectors which power the two lights on the trim piece to free the trim piece entirely.

These are the ED1 part numbers I found for the wing. Let me know if you have any additional information. I believe the 4 parts are the wing, two stands, and the base.

Did you think about pulling the fuse?

That could work if you pulled it when the spoiler is in the UP position. But then the spoiler is in the up position...

If it's in the down position and you pull the fuse, when the wing wants to deploy, it will likely throw an error message and limit your speed to 125mph as mentioned by Mseigel01.

Let me know if this works for you guys.

Here is the info I found while researching the ed1 spoiler.
Looks like Rear spoiler is callout #400 which looks like it includes the stands so maybee callout #410 is the base with 430 being the 2 brackets.
But really Mercedes cant make it much more confusing if they tried!!!!

When I look up these part numbers

A19079300009040 Rear spoiler $1049
A19079301009999 replaces 19079300009040 $639
A1907930300 Reinforcement $42
A1907930400 Reinforcement $42
Once again confusing!

The kit that Chrometec sells lists it as 8 parts that are included but for obvious reasons they don't call out what they are. They price the whole thing at around $1800euro plus freight (which for me is ridiculous, so would love to be able to get all the part numbers sourced locally or maybe brought back by friends travelling to US)

Wonder what the other 4 parts are??

Hey mate,

Any reason I don't need all the parts shown in that picture that are in the 300s? Or is that the image and parts for the factory wing?

I've got to order it all from the US so just trying to triple check it all before hitting go.

Cheers

Whoa. What software are you using here. How can I get access to something like that. I appreciate a pointer. I had such software for my M5; would love it for my GTS!

Did anyone try this method above for disabling the factory rear wing to install the fixed rear wing??
How did it work out?

I'll try it eventually, I'm still designing the wing to go on my car.

Why don't you give it a shot? It will only take 15 minutes to try it.
