2018 E63S,
OEM Spoiler disable?

I am considering buying a renntech or OEM wing for my GTS. How is the factory wing disabled? Just unplug the motor?

I don't remember anyone here helping me get the spoiler installed.

Do us all a favor - dont use this forum.

It is more complicated than that. I understand that it there is a need to do an ECU or software fix, but I don't know if anyone has solved the problem?

2018 E63S,
I know that renntech sells a plug in module with their kit, but there must be a way outside of spending $9k on a spoiler

Correct, the deactivation module for the OEM wing is included in our full Wing/Spoiler assembly. No need of modification to the ECU necessary, Plug'n'Play solution.

I would also like to know if this module is sold separately as I'm planning on purchasing an OEM spoiler from Mercedes.

Spoiler error

i just replaced factory spoiler with authentic MB part on a 2016 GTS. I'm getting a message that the wing has been deactivated and it's limiting top end to 125 mph. My local Atlanta dealer was able to obtain the code to clear it, but MB won't allow them to apply it, which is frustrating. So now we may need to open it back up to reinstall the wing motor to trick it out of the error. Any other ideas?

if you get the coding instructions from MB anyone with a C4 DAS system will be able to dis-able it. There will be a couple of module where it will have to be disabled CGW, IC, and SAM
I am sure if I play around with C4 DAS system I will be able to figure it out.

Yeah I had to pay to get it sorted it out. Took over a month. You want answers, you'll have to pay just like I did. Wether it be paying me me or someone else. It'd be nice to recoup my investment.

I don't remember anyone here helping me get the spoiler installed.

I was helpful in saying that it was complicated, thereby managing expectations....

I never said anything bad about anyone and certainly not you. I appreciated all the help I was given.

But nothing on the forum helped me fix the problem and I'm obviously not the first one that's done it. So yeah, I reserve the right to recoup my R&D cost lol. I'm not forcing anyone to give me anything. If anyone is looking for a shortcut, I'm here.

Wow lmao. Talk about community. This is the first time I see something like that on a forum full of fellow enthusiasts with the same car.

Luethen has a cool fixed wing. They allow operation of stock mechanism with no codes apparently.

Slow GTS, it is customary on these forums that members share their thoughts and findings. You may not find the answer but you get the courtesy of a few members taking time and offering ideas etc. I see the disappointment of some members here as you were able to resolve your problem but didn’t bother to give back the same courtesy. Now in your defense, this is not your own thread.
No one wants you to pay for their fix. You could simply state that you were able to fix the problem and point members to the same source to which you paid or offer the solution to anyone who wants to share your cost with you. That is more like how this community works. One should be willing to give a little more than they take.
Nevertheless glad to see you had resolution. Have you met any other OC owners. We have a pretty good group of guys and girls that meet almost weekly and do car stuff if you are into it.
Cheers
