Cool. I wonder why the GT C is priced so closely. Is it supposed to be like the 911 Turbo to the GT3? Grand tourer vs. Hardened track car. *shrug

I'm hoping it won't be long before mbusa puts up the configurator ... I've had to use the UK one to get an idea of what it will look like but I'm not sure if the options are the same as the US spec.

based on the pricing of the GTS properly optioned (Ive never once seen a base GTS with zero adds- the 16's were 129 and change right?)- the GTR will be closer to the mid 170's to 180's (heavier adds) once the options have been apportioned. Anyone who thinks they will find a 157k car is fooling themselves.

Indeed, the difference is that the GTR has less options than the GTS, since it already has them in the base price, or they are not available (fancy leathers, glass roof). It's easier to add 30k in extras to the GTS than to the GTR.

Agree.

In reality the 157 number is closer to 160 once the msrp sheets hit with destination and other regional charges (is there also a gas guzzler tax?). Then the adds come on but as you said its a lighter hit.

Indeed, it's simply because it will be a limited edition. Only 50 units for the entire USA. No announcement on how many worldwide.

BUT you can buy the special 50th anniversary badges over the counter at your local Mercedes dealer and save a TON of $$$$.

Do people not realize by the time you option the car , you are looking at 30k plus for options. My options added up to 37k
