Exclamation Crazy GTR Price

This dealership in Germany must be kidding, 250,000.00 eur without tax and 297,500.00 eur with tax. Almost double the MSRP with tax. Will they be able to sell it?

They're just flippers, even if they sell for 220k to someone who doesn't want to wait for 1 year, it's still 20k+ profit for doing literally nothing. If it comes to worse, they sell at MSRP and get their money back.

The keyword was "even if". Of course they're trying to sell for more, not everyone feels like waiting 1 year for a car, they're just hoping they'll find one of those buyers who have enough cash and want to leave the dealer with the car the day they walk in.

Then the consumer behavior is allowing the dealers to seize such moments. Personally, I would never do this.

That's correct. All it takes is 1 single buyer to make this practice worth it, and as you can see, it would pay them off by nearly 100k. I read that Porsche was trying to stop this kind of practice with the GT3, but I'm not sure how.

Porsche! don't get me started.
Could not get a GT3RS slot, flippers were selling them for 50% more.
Could not get a 911R slot, some are in the $1m range now (MSRP $200k).
They called me for a 991.2 GT3 slot and I said no thanks, I've already ordered the GTR. However, I do not think they can control what dealers/people can do except maybe not sell them anymore hurting themselves at the end.

They can punish dealers who do this, because you're an example as to why this practice damaged Porsche: you couldn't buy their car and had to deal with flippers. You bought a different brand and who knows if you'll return to Porsche. For Porsche, it's not worth selling that 1 car to a dealer when they could have sold it to you and make you a happy repeat customer.

This dealer selling the overpriced GTR in Germany isn't very common over here, but it's increasing in numbers. Most people buy their car at official dealerships where it would be frowned upon to do this kind of price gauging.

That's exactly why I dislike this Porsche dealers here in South Florida. I went few days ago to one of them and they had 2 911Rs selling for 600k and 585k. The sales guy said that they way Porsche is fighting this is by making sure if they sale the car within 6 months of the owner getting it they will remove the owner from the VIP list, of course he also mentioned that the owner when he sales the car won't transfer the title after 6 months of Salish the car. Crazy!!!
here are the 911Rs

Crazy indeed, the black one is a GT3RS - certainly not worth $500k+

My GTR coming this August was 176k euro with options and including tax so this price is 120k euro over. They are obviously just a flipper who have bought one and are now on selling it. They must have go one of the very first production cars though because production only just started.

Yep, production started in End of Feb/Early March, I have my car's vin but I do not know when my delivery is - dealership is quoting mid june but they think car has already been produced.

Funnily enough, the same car is being brokered by a Saudi specialty car shop too

245k eur is the asking price. Hmm, Instagram links do not appear in the forums.

245k is the original flipper price minus German VAT (19%), and a tiny 5k profit on the side. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it was a lemon and they'd never be able to sell it?

Yep, the 5k is what is obvious, there could be more behind the scenes, I think they will find a buyer at the end as not everyone got their orders in for a GTR.

They've lowered the price to 238,000 EUR without tax. I guess they've had no takers and they have to move fast.

fun ones.
Car is gone now.

only physical car for sale now is this one https://m.mobile.de/auto-inserat/mercedes-benz-amg-gt-r-2017-on-stock-sofort-schenefeld/242530526.html?ref=srp

awful spec and silly money. Lots of cheaper listings but not for physical cars.

Still listed on their website, interesting one here too, claims to be available on 31.05 and has 3100km on it but wanted for 184k eur without tax.

http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat...action=vipReco

yet another green one is listed for 285k with tax.

Those two didn't come up on my phone for some reason.

The one you linked to is listed as a demonstrator? I'm surprised anywhere is getting these in as demos.

Will be interesting to see where the prices go
