570gt is a solid choice. Look around and find something in inventory, show up and make a deal. This may even require a flight out and a road trip back

Most Porsche dealers have a few 911 4s in stock. Some of the properly optioned ones look pretty nice. These seem to be in the 135-155 range.

There are also turbos and turbo s sitting at dealerships.

I'm going to do this. I'm 5'10" 170 lbs and egress is more challenging than my GT3. Agree on the exterior mirrors creating blind spots. I'm getting used to the long nose. The GT3 is like a go-kart with the driver position right over the front.

Otherwise car is a blast to drive and a better daily driver than the GT3. I love the Individual setting. It's like my 458 Spider I would drive in Race mode with Bumpy road suspension setting. The exhaust sounds amazing. The steering feel is spot on with the Dynamic Plus package. The torque is great for daily use. I don't have to wind the RPM past 5000 like the GT3. The High End Burmester with my Tidal Hifi lossless audio makes my chest vibrate. I'm pleased with the silver pearl and black interior, the matte carbon fiber interior trim and crossbar, the illuminated door will, the AMG insignia cast from the mirror to garage floor. After a 3 hour detail the Brilliant Blue sparkles in the sun.

Glad I made the switch and nice to drive something different. The car smells so good both inside and out.

My individual setting is sport plus engine and comfort suspension. I drive in individual 99% of the time.

Elaborate more on how the gts is a better daily driver than the Porsche gt3. I'm sure a lot of people would like to hear a comparison.

Other issues I've noticed. One needs to close the front door with some authority, lightly closing the door tends to leave it loosely ajar.

The transmission shifter and center console storage bin are located in an awkward location too far rear.

My individual setting is race engine, manual, ESP sport and sport suspension. Even the sport plus suspension is more comfortable than the non-PDK sport GT3 suspension.

The GTS is more comfortable, has better rear visibility without the huge *** wing, has a smoother, less twitchy transmission in low gears, and a nicer interior with more individualized vehicle and electronic settings. My GT3 interior was all Alcantara, I prefer the Nappa leather interior of the GTS. YMMV.

It doesn't bother me that much but it rides rougher/bouncier over bumps than a Porsche GT3 (even in comfort mode). Wish there was more of a difference in suspension tuning between the 3 different modes.

edit: I have AMG dynamic plus package so it's probably worse than a car without

My other complaint was the sound system but I replaced that.

My 2018 AMG GTS with the Dynamic Plus Package must have improved suspension over 16 models because after daily driving a 991 GT3 for 2 straight years there is no way it is softer than the AMG. The Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires alone were far less comfortable than the Pilot Super Sports.

I assume you own/owned a GT3?

From the comments here and the online reviews on the GTR and GTC it seems like maybe the 2018s got suspension improvements across the board.

The combination of stiff suspension and hard seats is making me consider silicone butt implants.

I owned a 997.2 GT3 for the last 5 years with the Pirelli Corsa R compounds. GTS feels bouncier over bumps. Everywhere else is probably similar IMO.

I only have a little beat of seat time in the 991 GT3 so can't say for sure.

Wow, the 997.2 GT3 on race tires is way rougher and less comfortable than the 991 GT3 so for you to experience a rougher and bouncier ride in the GTS compared tothe 997.2 GT3 says a lot.

I can only assume my 18 GTS has an improved suspension. While there is not a huge discrepancy between the 3 suspension settings, I'm not experiencing any bouncy ride although I only use Comfort at warm-up.

For me this is easy - the steering....

Its too light and makes a car that already feels like it pivots about its midpoint, a little twitchy.

And thats it.

this attribute makes you feel like you have to be super alert and not even check your phone while driving. I think they may have engineered this out of the 2018s somewhat.

Steering on my 18 feels planted and not twitchy although not as precise on turn in as my GT3.

Brake dust. Really bad. Vic, any news on Akebono pads? I’m growing weary of washing that crap from my wheels every week. Porter fields maybe?

Any my other pad manufacturers?

Carbotech normally make a ‘ceramic’ pad option that reduces the brake dust markedly. Works fine on the street; just don’t ever try them on a road course.

Also, get your wheels coated in one of the ceramic coatings such as Opticoat, etc. Makes it so much easier to keep them clean.

This is more pronounced with my wider wheels. 10" front, 12" rear

i did have them coated and it is easier, but not as easy as I thought it would be.

So so going to try porterfields in the next couple of weeks.

What colour are your wheels?

I have matte black and being a little OCD/sad, I do the wheels separately to washing the car - Wheel Woolies, couple of cloths and a stool ....... 30mins of automotive therapy right there

yeah It was therapy at first but now it’s a PITA. It was therapy first but now it’s a PITA. It’s still hot here in Atlanta, and the wheels are dirty after a couple days. So I have to try something different.

Greetings, newly joined. Enjoying the forum and the informative posts. I am debating giving up my GT3 for the GT something. Will keep reviewing all the good input here. Greatly appreciated.

Mike.
