The road noise/tire roar of the GT is my biggest concern or not being able to have a conversation at high speeds without yelling.
Related to your 2 concerns (feeling tired and conversation), the GT is not an issue. No problem with having a conversation reaching out its top speed and hearing my passenger say it's probably not a good idea . Drove 7+ hours to Road Atlanta and did not feel beat up but it's clearly not as comfy as an S coupe.

I was thinking....dog alone = fine.

Like the old joke says;
Put your wife and your dog in the trunk and come back in a couple of hours and see who is really happy to see you.

I was looking for a new car when I need to haul more than one other person to replace my M4. So I test drove a 2017 S550 convertible last month.

The seats were the most comfortable I've put my broad bottom in since my 2010 BMW 550i GT. Acceleration was adequate and everything else was superb. The interior was quite beautiful.

I was offered a stupdenous deal on the S550, but I decided I liked the Panamericana grill too much so I ordered (from another dealer) a 2018/2019 S63 convertible. (The dealer didn't know if any 2018s were going to be built and the 2019 could now be ordered, so we did.)

So to answer your question - why choose? Get both.

Haha. Can’t imagine putting a dog in my GTS and I am a dog-lover. Wife is tolerable
