My 2018 GT - Pics
Thought I'd share some pics of my new baby and the spec sheet. Have had it for 3 weeks and loving it. The Magnetite Black is a great color and pairs well with the black cross-spoke wheels (IMO). Anything I would change?...as some have pointed out don't really need the upgraded Burmester sound...exhaust note enough to keep you entertained. I made an assumption even the "cheap seats" with the Dinamica/MB-Tex came with adjustable side bolsters and thigh supports - wrong! So I would have gone with the upgraded seats had I known better. Luckily I'm not a big dude and fit just fine and comfortably as they are. Other than that...so far all is good!.
For those still waiting for yours to be released or delivered, hang in there. I can only imagine if the base GT is this good how much of a riot the upgraded models are.
Cheers!

Very cool! I also have magnetite with black wheels. In pics these cars look all black, but in real life the combo looks great. Magnetite looks grey or green sometimes and the black wheels and night trim contrast nicely. Mine is a 2017 though.

Congrats bro. I've had my 18 GTS for 2 weeks and been driving "Mila" every day. It's a fantastic machine. Glad you're enjoying your ride as well.

Congratulations! Looks great with the black on black. The pics help tide me over for the time being - until mine arrives. Thanks for sharing!

Nice!!! I agree - amazing the different colors that come out depending on lighting conditions.

I just placed an order for an AMG GT with my dealer. I debated between black and magnetite black. I chose auburn brown interior with piano black trim. My dealer thought that pure black would look better than magnetite with that combination. I went back and forth. I do prefer metallic paint, but I was not sure I wanted more of a dark grey look. I guess a bigger issue is waiting to get a build date! At the end of the day, these are all first world problems I guess.

If you just put in the order, you don’t have a build date yet so you have a long time to make a decision and make changes. I would prefer the metallic black. It’s doesnt show dirt as much and will hide swirl marks better. I’ve always gone for metallic black if picking black. It is not grey

I see your point. I actually saw the magnetite black on an S Class at another dealer. Under lights it did have a hint of gray in my opinion. Perhaps without the lights it would look more black. Obsidian black would have been perfect but not available at a reasonable price for a non-specified color. I agree with you about swirls which was one of my concerns. I may go and take another look under a variety of lighting conditions. Congratulations on yours though!
Did you consider the GTS or was the marginal difference from the GT not worth it?

Well, I took another look at magnetite black at another dealer who had it on an S class and an S coupe (see photos). This time I saw it outside in natural light although it was partly cloudy. It looked black at times, hints of green at times, hints of grey at times, all based on the angle, distance, etc. I do so much prefer metallic paint to solid paint, I am leaning towards making the change to my order. it just seems a bit more interesting. I think any of the embedded hues will go well with the auburn brown interior with piano black trim.
