Looks fantastic Fastmd.

I decided to order one myself a few weeks ago, hoping I get a build slot.

By the way, I forgot to ask, did you have to pay a Gas Guzzler Tax on your GTR. If so, how much was it? The rumor was $1k.

Best regards

Big job but necessary for Magno paint. I am also planning to do my entire car. You might want to consider ceramic coating as well if you haven't already

WRAPPING TEACHABLE MOMENTS

If you wouldn’t mind, how about giving all of us uneducated owners a few teachable moments on;

- - Brands of wraps available
- - Best processes (best practices) in wrapping a car.
- - How long the insall takes
- - Downside to wrapping
- - Cost
- - How long it lasts

Many Thanks

I'd also like to know how the process works regarding ares that can't use just a bit sheet to cover, like the body-colored parts of the vents, the rear deck where the spoiler is (like how do they seamlessly wrap the spoiler supports?).

I think most of the PPF last about 8 years or so? Install probably takes a week.

Also... on non magno, regular clear coat paint, is it a good idea to do a paint correction first or is that a waste of money. Obviously you wouldn't paint correct magno.

I have always had paint correction done before putting anything on a new car. Definitely not a waste of money. A good detailing shop should go over the car with you. These cars come a long way and sometimes sit for weeks/months.

What I have learned over the years is that the 2 most important things to have your car look perfect with a clear bra are 1. paint condition, having a proper paint correction and 2. the installer, all edges wrapped, no seams, no cutting on the car etc. Make sure you get refs from people in your area.

I have everything wrapped, vents, lights removed etc.

I would have a problem trusting a detailer to take the car apart and remove all the panels, vents, lights (!), spoiler, quarter panels, etc.

It's relatively normal for the high end installers. I have left over $1 Million cars with mine and never had a problem.
