I was told the other day that because I ordered a GTC, a day of driving at an AMG track with instruction is included. Has anyone taken advantage of this? Just curious as to the experience and perhaps the best place to schedule.

Yes, I suppose this is similar to the AMG Performance Tour I was invited to a couple weeks ago, but it was never mentioned as included when I ordered the car nor when it was delivered in June.

They put us in a beautiful resort for 2 nights, and we spent a whole day on the track and autocross driving most of the AMG models, including the GTR, E63S, S63coupe, SL63 and C63S, I had a great time

You will get hooked and come back for more. I am ready to book it next year for the Pro+ level. It's truly addictive and you get to drive cars that are not out on the market yet (we had the new E63S for a slalom test at Road Atlanta in September).

2018 dates should be up in late January or Feb.. You need to have the VIN # of your car and purchase completed to register

I went to COTA for beginner, Atlanta for Advanced, and headed back to COTA in a couple of weeks for the PRO. Definitely worth doing and a phenomenal experience IMO.

They will send you a voucher. My advice, if you have taken delivery you can sign up immediately even without the packet they send you. They will check with MBNA to verify you belong to your VIN and you have an eligible vehicle. I say this because the basic dates fill up. I am going to COTA in less than 2 weeks. I used my voucher to pay for the basic and paid additional for the advanced. Allowing me to spend 3 days on the track. I knew one day would not be enough for me! The dates fill up fast especially if you want to do COTA. 2nd bit of advice. If you want to do an additional date like I am doing Sign up for AMG Private Lounge (FREE you will need your VIN). Thanks Sandoval. My car is currently on a freighter and 2 days away from Long Beach where it will be trucked to Seattle - I have the VIN, but apparently the dates for 2018 haven't been released yet. Maybe my dealer can help me out with that. I took a basic performance driving class up here in Seattle, so I will likely go for the advanced and see how that goes. Thanks again for the thoughts and reco's.

Hi Sandoval,

I see that you are set to go to COTA in a few weeks. I did the basic course there last year on December. It was raining all day. I will be there on December 10th and 11th, in the advanced course. Hope its sunny this time.

I'm staying at the JW Marriott about 5 to 6 blocks away from the intercontinental (headed to pro 12 & 13th) fly in the 11th. Intercontinental is decent, cool rooftop bar at the aloft across the street.

Truluck's is good. If you want really good interior Mexican food, make a reservation for Fonda San Miguel. Their Sunday brunch is pretty awesome, too.

Colorado Street area has a few places and a decent amount of chain steakhouses. It's only a few blocks from the intercontinental as well.
