Nothing ruins a new purchase thread faster than some yahoo insulting the OP's deal. The OP bought the car already, what's the point in criticizing him? If OP is stoked on his deal, so am I. It's not my money to spend, why should I care?
I especially love new car threads because of the excitement and anticipation. Buying a new whip is one of the best things in life. Let's keep it that way.
By the way, Left Coast >*

I love the car and think the deal you made is fine to adopt early, and even get number 1 of a numbered, limited edition.
Really, if you wanted an edition 50 today, there are very few opportunities to get one right now, and this was the only opportunity to get #1 out of 500. I also think that if your buddy would've sold you the car for sticker with no markup at all, it would not of been a very popular move at the dealership.
But seriously, do you have to insult an entire state? I live in Houston. It becomes tiresome to hear people from two states constantly insulting the other 48. I don't think we should be buying into these stereotypes that divide people.

At Matte GTS. Nice man how much did that run you for the Expel Stealth?` Did you do the whole car or just the front? Also what is your opinion on the rear active spoiler? Would you rather have a fixed spoiler?

The wrap was about $3000. I did the hood, the entire front, fenders, the mirrors, the a pillars, the whole lower rockers, the rear below the back bumper behind the back tire and all the chrome pieces are in stealth wrap , the headlights too. I had a Porsche and I removed the moving wing and put a fixed wing it was quite a project I had to remove the entire back of the car modify the moving mechanism so that the car thought the wing was still moving and everything was fine after it was done. Not sure that I like it too much on the GT.

Not sure if it's ethics so much as legislation....I am pretty sure most provinces have advertising laws that prevent dealers from charging above MSRP. That said, it works out great as I cannot imagine having to pay a market adjustment fee. The AMG GT definitely works out to better value in Canada and that may partially be due to the current value of our dollar, but several years ago I was living in LA, and most cars seemed to be a far better value in the states than in Canada, both with respect to MSRP and lease pricing.

There are dealers in the USA that don't charge over MSRP as a policy. But many dealers in huge metropolitan areas with lots of rich people like LA and SF do try to get huge premiums. Many I talked to initially, wanted $25K or $50K over. I told them no thanks. And they said ok well the car is going to sell really quick, so say goodbye. Weeks later, if not months later, the cars are still sitting there and I get a call from the dealers, "oh hey so are you still interested if we come down to sticker price?" That's the game. It's now almost January and the cars are still on the lots.

Someone who spells butt with one t has an extra 10K to waste. California attitude must be rather, um, generous to ego vs the stuff that works elsewhere. It is certaiunly the OP's choice but if none of us paid over list they would not try.

money = convenience. Not having to wait for the price to come down on a car you want today is a convenience. People work hard for their money ... let them spend it however they want.
