Exclamation GTR Allocation Available Germantown Mercedes Benz

Hello all,

I have been told I can get an allocation from Mercedes for the last run of 2018 GTRs for being one of the top GT series sellers in the region. Will be a March-April build.

Will have to do paperwork and take delivery in person. If I hurry the build is still changeable. Any takers? Please PM!

-Steve

That kinda fell through.. (albeit delayed) But Basically we may be able to trade another dealer a allocation slot and get their changeable GTR for something I have on order.. Same time frame as Steve posted.. Would have to be concrete.. But a chance to customize your gtr.. let's us know and we will try and make it happen!

You guys need to explain why anyone would want to order a car that will be essentially one model year old and worth less than sticker before they take delivery. The 2019 build and DOGS will be out while this car is on the water. Why not wait until then and get a 2019?

We’re listening and ready to learn.

Sorry for the delay, I just back in town.. I understand your concern.. I believe 2019 GTR's (Probable) will be late Fall deliveries.. this will be here a few months before that. The cars go up monetarily every year (maybe 1%).. This is for someone that wants the car a few months sooner.. You can always wait until then and you can wait for a 2020 also..

I dont mark my GTR's up at all.. the market may have caught up.. but I always sold my 5 GTR's at MSRP.. Some dealers will probably be asking over MSRP for 19's,...usually specialty car production numbers go down the subsequent years

Im just offering a car to someone

Hopefully wont be an issue Our Maryland lemon law is pretty good though... I have only had two cars since 2010 with multiple issues.. and I will say MBUSA stepped in before any such laws were needed

For someone wanting to take the car to a road course it makes sense to buy a late ‘18 and actually get some use out of it this year versus waiting till late autumn for a ‘19 and then perhaps not being able to ‘track’ it until Spring ‘19.

Well I hope since I bought my car in OH and it’s registered in KS I don’t have any major issues! lol

Currently everything seems fine although I do have one hell of a rattle somewhere on the passenger’s side of the dash that is worse in this cold weather.

Anyone else having any early ‘issues’?

Scott thanks for the info above, (I owe you at least a couple of beers) and yes I hope not to have any major issues. Luckily I have a really good long term relationship, (business! lol), with an SA at my local MB dealership, so he would hopefully go to bat for me with MB if there are any issues. Plus the ‘techs’ there are decent which always helps. Lastly I’d hope that MB step up should I need that type of help.

Its interesting in that in all the years I’ve been buying cars out of state, I have never once given a thought to whether the KS lemon law wouldn’t help protect me in the event of a catastrophic issue. Luckily I’ve never had to LL a car. It really makes me think that given the fact that so many vehicles are now purchased/leased across state lines since the advent of the internet, that congress should enact a federal lemon law, even if it was quite basic, in order to protect consumers. Not that I’d expect this current congress to give a damn about consumer rights of course.

Shalul,

You’re right of course and I’m sorry for being a large part of the reason for this thread ‘heading off the rails’! lol

Bottom line imho is this after I’ve thought about it some more: certainly a purchaser might be more protected perhaps when buying within their own state, and they should check their own state’s law to be certain. BUT the risk of buying a car and then having an issue such that it needs to be lemon lawed is extremely low, and I really think that it’s in MB’s best interest to stand behind its products, so for me at least I will continue to explore purchase opportunities outside of my own state whenever it’s in my best interest.

Now hopefully back to our regularly programmed material! lol

Every out-of-state purchaser should therefore know what he’s getting into. That’s also true of out-of-state buyers from other states. The initial question is whether they’ll have any Lemon Law protection at all.

And Maryland’s Lemon Law appears to be run of the mill. I have no idea if that law would apply in the event of a purchase by someone from out-of-state who has the vehicle serviced outside of Maryland.

Sorry to hijack your thread but the information is relevant, timely and important. Any buyer who ventures out to buy a car from a dealer in another state should know what he's getting. And what he's not getting. Don't you agree?
We are just north of DC and deal with customers close by who live in DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.. Half our sales are "out of state" so we deal with warranty and repairs consistently. I've worked for Mercedes-Benz for several years now and can say they step up in the HIGHLY unlikely issue of a lemon. Again.. Maybe 3 in my career with Benz and none were actual lemons... Mercedes just steps in and we get involved as well for trade assists.

I appreciate your consumer advise.. And your very welcome to start a lemon law thread..

I've helped several people get great deals on their amgs and will assist anyone with their issues..

California is across the country so I don't much deal with California customers.

Shalul is 100% a stand up Sales Manager who I can highly recommend. I had my order in for a GTR with him until I decided to purchase a car I found on the ground and immediately available. He was upfront about everything and always responsive to my questions. Combine that with an MSRP philosophy and you can’t go wrong doing business with him and his dealership. We’ve known each other since the early days of the R35 GTR.

Thanks bish, that means a lot coming from you.

For those that don't know me, I sell cars.. But I'm an enthusiast 1st. I track my cars (40 plus track days under my belt) , work on my cars (on car 41 now btw) , read many blogs, magazines, watch so many car shows (YouTube, grand tour, everyday driver, top gear etc) .. Watch f1/indy/imsa and try to watch formula E (really trying.. Its tough)

As a car enthusiast, I like to buy from other enthusiasts.. Its good business for me of course but I honestly love selling performance cars... Talking cars for a living is a great thing.. I try hard to make the best deals. Upfront and honest and transparent.

I will delete all the non related posts here if the sponsor asks. The site is sponsored supported and their threads should not be interrupted by non material posts (to their thread).

While the info is great and not a TOU violation, a new thread should be started about that topic and leave the sponsor thread about what they are selling to the community.

That's a $50K difference, right?

I'm sure there's some Maryland homemaker who would want to drive/slog her 4x4 to the local Walmart. Is there even any question?
