2019 AMG GTR...
Is there and will there be one? Does anyone here have a confirmed build for a 2019? I see talk on the Internet (so it has to be true - lol) about a 2019 Black Series GTR. A lot of times that's just hype and clickbait. Accordingly, these alleged spy-shots at the Ring looked like a regular GTR to me. I also read somewhere that AMG was not going to use "Black Series" anymore to be politically correct because of possible perceived racial implications - ridiculous. Like I said I can't remember where I saw that one.

Cars are like women. Once you got a good one, stop looking . There’s always another one coming around with bigger and better breasts. Nicer clothes or better smile. Just be happy with the one you’re with.

You know the old saying:
” If it floats, flys or f..cks, it’s cheaper to rent than to buy”.

I asked my dealer if I'd have to pay the price increase if I end up getting a 2019, since I ordered
a 2018. His response was, "We'll have to talk to Mercedes about that."

There will be a 19 GTR.. no official eta.. but unofficially I was told ordering may be late spring, but probably Fall/late fall deliveries... usually a small increase in MSRP for some random thing (They usually tell me raw materials cost increases...but I dunno).

GTRS will be announced soon. That is the real limited edition model. The GTR is Not limited and they will sell as many as they can (values WILL drop).
GTRS = black series version

There have been no test mules (or even rumors) of another car and AMG wants the AMG GT to become a normal brand line line like the SL, S class, E class etc... think 911, vette.. so until we start getting rumors of a next gen car Im not sure what we will see. Again like we saw the W205 C class, the AMG GT rumors while the SLS was in its final runs, the new G wagon 4x4 as mules of the new 2019 were seen
AMG is also busy with the new 4 door GT to go up against the Panamera

Having owned a 2008 CLK BS, (Black Series) I agree with Shalul in that the car won’t be called a ‘GTRS’. Far more likely to be called an AMG GT BS, or perhaps an AMG GTR BS. And yes generally the Black Series cars are only released towards the very end of the run of a specific vehicle. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with the GT BS: more power for sure as it’s easy to do, along with more aggressive aero. What’s going to be more difficult is getting any appreciable weight out of the car.

and definitely electric motors in front. It will be interesting to see if components shared with Project One.

yea none of the motor will change (no electric components) minus the tweaks to make it 603hp... easily doable with a flash
hood change for cooling? bigger rear wing...
dont need a roof scoop (its a front/mid engine...)

Tobias Moers openly said they will not be using the "black series" moniker for the next higher version of the GTR... My sources indicate GTRS is the name they have chosen (but not yet set in stone).
they are changing all the monikers and using a new naming system for the AMG GT platform

although...maybe we will see some future hybrid variants? lol
LINK
Mercedes AMG is busy working on their so-called ‘power-hubrids’, which will be using their battery power more for boost than for range. The new hybrids will use the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine which is already established in numerous models. The Germans want to push the output of the new hybrid powertrain up to 805hp, with the first model to get it being AMG’s upcoming four-door coupe.

Somehow I have a gut feeling that the 4dr GT sedan with its 4.0 V8 TT with eletric motors will trickle down to the Black edition.
Or maybe I really wish it does as the standard car with 600hp is already having traction issues.
In the perfect world, MB would still have connections with MacLaren and apply what they did on the 720S to the BS. This car has amazing traction with RWD and 700+ hp.

They already had had a electric SLS, so it seems to be future.
