Toyo Proxes R888r tires?

I'd like to install some wider tires with better traction on the rear. 325/30/20 These tires are about 3/4" taller than the stock tires. Will the computer be okay with this small variance? I'm also looking at the 315/30/20's that are only 1/2" taller, which are on sale $422.each.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes. It will be fine. I just ordered a set Friday. ...there is also a local guy who's running the 888R rears with no issues for a few months.

good to know but FYI that when I ordered my custom wheels and wanted wider tires, the engineer advised that i needed to keep the same ration and overall height. They had issues on other high end german vehicles where the computer threw a CEL and the car would not drive right.

You either talked to
A)someone simply trying to toe the company line and keep you away from anything aftermarket, or away from things they are unfamiliar with because of their unfamiliarity (which you find a lot of on these cars)
B)a fool

on the GTS staying within a certain percentage of factory rolling diameter will have no negative or odd impact to vehicle or its performance.

example, Michilen Pilot Super Sport tires in 265/30-20 front and 305/25-21 rear are a perfect rolling diameter match, so no issues at all. Most go to a 265/30-20 and 325/25-21 combo when upgrading wheels, again, front perfect, rears perfectly acceptable small % increase.

also, to the poster inquiring about Toyo’s, if running stock wheels, the 315/30-20 is a great fit on the factory 11” wide rear.

You should be fine.

Despite the fact that they are R compounds, I've found R888s to be surprising good street tires. The problem as a daily is wear. I would not run them on a DD but they are fine on the weekends, particularly because most of us aren't driving the big cars in bad weather anyway. You are in Texas so maybe not a big deal, but they are like rocks in cold weather (and consequently dangerous) until you get a little heat in them.

Hahahaha. Strasse Forged? I only have one word to describe them. Morons. I'm surprised they are still in business.

As long as you know R888 & R888R are very loud tires. And TERRIBLE in the wet.
The Prior and Mansory GT's are mostly all running 355-25-21 tires and are totally fine.

A lot of opinions I see. just trying to help someone and I have nothing to gain. My comment was based on 3 separate wheel companies indicating I was taking a chance with tires that are more than 5% of the spec of OEM.
1.5 inch taller is way out of spec so I am just telling the op to be careful. would not want him to be stuck with tires or wheels that create an issue.

I am lost on the OP's or whoever's math.
Stock rear tire is 27"
Toyo R888 315/30-20 is 27.5", that is less than 2% difference which is perfectly fine.
The 325/30-20 Toyo the OP mentions is 27.7", that is NOT 1.5" taller diameter, where is this incorrect math coming from?!!??? That tire is about 2.5% bigger than stock, AGAIN WITHIN ACCEPTABLE SPEC.

Threads get clogged up a lot with uninformed mis-information that can really screw up fact and reality.

Would love to hear about any specific issues with Strasse Forged. Or if you're just referring to their advice on keeping stock diameter.

I was thinking of ordering 20x9.5 and 20x11 wheels from them and running 275/30 and 305/30 MP4S.

my set up with my wheels and tires is the same except the front is 265 not 275. I am thrilled with how Strasse has treated me and i had issues with the custom coating I ordered. I have may friends who have bought wheels and they are also all very happy. feel free to PM me if you need more info.

So I fitted up my new 20X12 on 325 30 20 Toyo 888R. Fits like a glove! Stay tuned for the fronts.

They are a tiny bit taller but so are the fronts so it works out well. It's a common size for these cars.

They are. Not a pretty sidewall look, but a great R compound tire that is streetable.

Do these tires fit on stock rims? It is time for new meats and would like to go a little wider.
