2019 GT Black Series

Is there any information on the black series version of the AMG GT? And if so when can I get an allocation?

Great question. Let me also tell you about this car I found on Craigslist undervalued by $100k that is super easy to flip. :-P

We all know the car is coming; it’s been seen and photographed testing. We just don’t know the release date yet.

If you really want the car, and who wouldn’t, I’d call your nearest MB dealerships that have AMG affiliations and get on their list ASAP.

Good luck!

fun ones.
There’s another model to come between GTR and BS.

Having said that that in my country at least if you didn’t put your name down for BS years ago you’ve got no hope of getting one.

Can you tell us which model it is, as I don’t think there’s been any word of a model between the GTR and soon to be BS that I’ve read about, and I do try and keep up with the news.

Only one model above the GTR... GTRS

Tobias himself said they won't be using the black series moniker (unless he changes his mind before the release date)

GTR CS (Clubsport). No one I’ve spoken to has been able to confirm if it’s coming to the US. Focus on weight savings, more front aero, and same power level. I was considering switching over my GTR order but everyone in the US seems to be in the dark on it.

Yes, this is the model I was referring to, like you I'm not sure if its going to be heading to the US. MB have history with not letting you guys get the good stuff!

Its also a confirmed limited run model which will keep all the "investor" ***** happy

Not so, definitely 2. Both confirmed at local level here.

this looks to me like an option one can order on the GTR rather than a different model altogether.

From the info I’ve gotten, it’s a different model designation and is limited production, but with such little info, anyone’s guess at this point,

No, new model. More aero, less weight, same power and higher price.

The Black series is now confirmed for 2020 which will likely make it a MY21 here.

Nothing real specific other than a power bump to a bit over 600hp and weight loss through more extensive use of Carbon Fibre...

Probably the GT63S motor variation with 630hp and 627ftlbs torque, more carbon fibre, wider fender flares and hood scoop like the GT4 and sequential turn signals like the euro cars.

Here’s a thought: all blacks have had the 6.2 NA engine with the exception of the SL. The race models of GT have a M159 in them (sls engine). Maybe the black will come with a NA M159 in it🙌

Remember that is with the TQ transmission, not the DCT that’s in the GT series cars. I doubt the BS will have that much torque or it might damage the gearbox.

4 door AMG GT could handle that torque with AWD but doubtful RWD in GT BS could.

GAD is doing 1000 hp builds with same transmission, so I assume there are mods that resolve this limit.

Talking about torque not HP, more torque than a McLaren 720S puts down at 627 ft lbs would be impressive with a RWD chassis.

I really hope the chassis comes with a hybrid setup but I probably should not hold my breath if it's going to be lighter than the current car.

The GR6 DCT in the R35 Nissan GTR can be modified with new clutches etc. to handle ridiculous amounts of HP/torque, but it’s not cheap to do so.
