Attention
Hello again, i've been getting quite a bit of attention driving around the i8, almost too much. Its nice to meet new people and talk about the car but at this point i have people driving next to me taking videos and what not. Just wondering what to expect with the GTS?

well I barely got any attention for my brabus s63, maybe I just live in a clueless city but I don’t expect the GTR I’m getting any more... Especially that I ordered in black instead of Magno Green, prolly would have had hella more ladies 😂

I had my i8 for 3 years. But I'm in Southern California. When I first got it in September 2014 there were a lot of people I could see in their cars pointing it out to their passengers. And a few people in parking lots asked me questions. But maybe only 10 people approached me in 3 years.
I've had the GT for 6 months. I've had 2 people come up to me and many fewer pointing it out on the freeways. I've gotten a couple of thumbs up.
I'd say the GT gets as much attention as the i8 did during the last 6 months I drove it.
My preference is that no one notice me. (The i8 was the dark gray with light gray accents. The GT is brilliant blue and stands out a lot more.)

Depends where you live . There are so many Exotics on Long Island that it blends in . No one bats an eye when i drive by and it Solarbeam Yellow. There are many McLarens, Lambos , Ferrari’s , BMW and Mercs on the road. I might as well be driving a Toyota Prius . No one cares.

It’s weird bc I want attention but only when I want it. Sometimes you’re just trying to have a quiet drive, or maybe you’re having a **** day. Other days you got the music up loud, you’re looking good, feeling good, its a nice spring day or a cool summer night and sure, I welcome it. Something between the i8 and the M3 would be nice

My first month of ownership I get at least a thumbs up everytime I drive car. I have had at least a half dozen people ask me if they could take pics of the car. One guy drove buy in a tractor trailer truck on highway while taking a video of car with his phone. Granted it is Solarbeam yellow and does stick out a bit but I never thought it would be like this.

Back in 2001 I was looking at the CLs. I went to Encino Mercedes. I told the sales rep I was interested in the CL55 AMG. He tried to talk me into a CL600. (He had one on the showroom floor. Even back then the V-12s sank like a stone when you drove them off the lot.) He got deep into his sales pitch and told me I would be "the King of my neighborhood" when it came to cars. I laughed and left. Back then my neighborhood was awash in Ferraris and Lamborghinis. These days I've got neighbors with Bugattis, BMW-Rollers, a couple of Maybachs and the Malibu Mustang, aka the Bentley Continental GT. Except for the color, my car is essentially invisible. Which is fine by me.

I like being under the radar literally and figuratively in Black.
Literally, you can melt into traffic and avoid a lot of pullovers. Figuratively, it’s just real car guys who recognize the car in that color and I want to speak with them.
