GTR Fuel Door Tire Pressures...
Hate to beat a dead horse and there are thread snippets everywhere about the subject. What is the official/recommended tire pressure? I have 40 psi cold on all my tires and it came that way. When they warm up they all go to 44-46 psi, according to the dash monitor. I've heard talk on the forum of 38 psi - is that cold? Or is it 32 psi cold all the way around as indicated on the fuel door? I'm talking everyday driving and not track use
I have a GTC - similar basics - your tires are a touch wider - but iirc my fuel door shows the exact same thing. I can't check now as my car is getting some work done at the dealership. I run 31psi cold in front and back. Virtually the same fuel door sticker as my GTS also. When I pick up my car from a dealer it isn't unusual for the pressures to be jacked up. The car is more compliant at recommended pressures.
The normal psi for the GTR is 31psi. This is for running the car up to 155 mph. If you are driving at sustained speeds greater than 155 mph then use the higher pressures.
Your car came with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. They work best according to Michelin on a road course with cold temps around 24-26 psi. This would normally then get them to around 32-34 psi hot, which is where again Michelin state they perform best.
A poster above mentions an anecdoctal psi of “37 psi hot”, but earlier states the AMG Acdemy cars are running Continental tyres, NOT the MPSC2s. Hence please follow the Michelin recommendations IF you track the car using the OEM tyres.

Going to do it this morning and will report back later today. Can't wait to see, as I've logged 3,500 miles at 40 psi. So I'll definitely be able to know/feel the difference, given my GTR is my daily.

look at your tires, see what the MAX allowable pressure is. Dont go over that.
40 cold is higher than it should be, because it will go to 45-46 hot
Generally I use 36-38 cold on all cars. If you get down if the 30 range it will set off tpms alert when the temp drops and I think its too low a range overall. You want the air pressure to keep the tire well inflated and square on the wheel and not flex around or wobble around . If psi is low it will do that in cornering, hard maneuvering, running over bumps, and if psi is low you get worse tire contact and it wears more with strange patterns

I have never had a TPMS alert running at 31psi cold. However it could be said that in SoCal it never gets cold enough???!!!

Given the max 91 octane, I figured I’d ask if anyone goes above that. I have been using ethanol free 91 octane from Shell (in Canada) but a few pumps also offer 94 octane which I use in one of our other cars (Bmw 535). I notice better performance in the BMW with it but don’t know if it would be detrimental in my GT C. Would love some input

I go out of my way to put 93 octane in the car. It of course runs perfectly well on 91 (US) as this is what it was designed to run on, but it ‘could’ be that the ECU won’t pull timing in really hot weather and when you’re flogging on the car with the higher octanes.
