There is no way unless an OEM brake line was installed incorrectly at the factory or was damaged after delivery, that the ‘rubber’ line is going to melt. Some individuals believe that a SS brake line gives a slightly ‘firmer’ brake pedal than using the OEM ‘rubber’ lines, hence they swap them out. I believe that you could end up with an improper install of a SS brake line which could lead to a catastrophic result; hence I always leave the OEM brake lines alone.

YMMV.

When you use GTR please state Amg GTR as it may be confused with the real GTR

You may have noticed that you are on an AMG forum, so the assumption here is that a GTR is an AMG GTR. This contextualization should not require an explanation, unless you are simply trying to stir something up.
Regardless, I will play ... so when you say "real GTR" you can only be referring to a Skyline? You can't possibly mean that bloated mess currently available at your local Nissan dealer.

First off I am not a fake amg gtr hater, I think it’s ok.

Second, ask any car enthusiast with Minimum beginner knowledge about a GTR and they will tell you the Godzilla built by Nissan.

Third, the Nissan GTR gets around the Nuerburgring faster the the Amg with more weight and less tire width and stickiness, so that says something about the Nissan Awd system and overall demeanour of the car, this platform is 10yrs old!!! Respect!

Fourth , the Nissan GTRs have the the fastest 60-130mph of any other car, it is an absolute f’ing Beast:

In summary, you can see to this day, in terms of handling and acceleration it very impressive giving the Nissan the clout to be ‘The GTR’

I actually don't hate the nissan gtr.. But i gotta ask why you'd hijack the man's thread trying to give track experience and info to other amg gtr owners on an amg forum.. Just to get people riled up about the nissan?

You are right. On an AMG forum, everyone should qualify any reference to an AMG GTR with "AMG" so random Nismo fans surfing through aren't confused. Thank you for making such a compelling point.

As a former owner of an R35 Nissan GT-R, I can say you’re being a complete ******. This is a sub-section of a dedicated MB forum; one that refers to the variants of the AMG GT vehicles, one of which is the GTR version. If you have an issue with it, take it up with MB, although since Nissan haven’t sued to stop MB using the name, then I guess the maker of the Nissan GT-R doesn’t seem to care.

That being said, and from someone who extensively modified the R35 GT-R for the road course and drove it there many times, the AMG GTR is a much more satisfying car to drive on a road course. Yes the Nissan is fast, but unless you purchase the ‘Nismo’ version which is essentially undriveable on the street, the AMG GTR is faster on a road course; although it takes skill to be able to do so.

Seriously, for anyone to make the effort to come over to this forum and project this level of douchebaggery, must be a pre-adolescent child. I could not fathom an actual productive adult being this stupid.

Enjoy your fuggly, fast 'real' GTR in good health (if you actually own one).

Very true Jerry. I tend to give someone the benefit of the doubt a couple of times, then if they still act like an adolescent they go on the ‘ignore’ list.

You took the time to join this forum and post in this thread just to make this absurd request?

I'm glad you're in love with your overweight 10 year-old design Datsun. I've spent time behind the wheel of an R35 and it still is as heavy as a Bentley and is a bore to drive on city streets without breaking the speed limit.

What's the saying? "You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig."

yeah the numbers catch up with ones who drive that car and the realization that it’s not what it adds up to be.

I have a slightly different take on the R35 GT-R, although not the ******** move on the post by the owner:

When released in late ‘08 as an ‘09 model year here in the States, the R35 GT-R was a revelation. It had many faults, but it’s performance forced many manufacturers, including Porsche with the TT, etc, to really up their game. So it really helped ‘push’ the performance envelope forward, and perhaps helped accelerate us to today, when 500-600hp cars are common AND driveable on the street without constantly trying to kill their drivers.

It is a ‘numbers’ car, and is certainly beginning to show its age, and of course is a darling of the 1/4 mile crowd, which is great. But turn off all of the electronics, and it becomes a damn fine road course car, although one that is expensive to run due to the costs of the consumables.

But I wouldn’t own one currently; been there, done that.

I wouldn't be caught dead in a Datsun Nissan. In fact, I have given express instructions to the executor of my estate not to buy a Nissan and bury me in it. It's ugly as a casket, too.

Kind of pathetic that your car ownership experience is so predicated on whether random people recognize what kind of car it is you’re driving.

You come to a forum to hate on a brand and a car you’ve probably never driven to justify your purchase decision. Its pretty sad and childish.
