If it is secondary cat, would the car still meet all the ARB requirements (specifically in California)? Also, do you smell more fuel while running without these?

I am very interested in getting this done since you guys (contrary to the shop I went to) have mentioned its an octave lower.

No problem if you cant, just worth an ask

I don't think so, why would MB put them on in the first place?

My shop actually said there were not technically considered cats when he saw what was inside. Don't quote me on this as it looks to me like cat lol

I would love a soundclip too. Also, how much should this cost?

Thanks

Hi, I had a quote last week of 200 GBP and they would need the car for one day.

Have a great weekend everyone

Thank you, as I suspected previous members falsely claimed they were resonators and not cats but I had a sneaking suspicion they were cars (hence sebring).

so you should pick up more power and sound from the second cats removal. Seems like a cost effective was of getting more flow & sound without getting downpipes. Keeping primary cats actually makes the car sound better IMO. Full cat less downpipes don't actually sound that good and cost a fortune and are a pain to install. This seems like a much better route with the X-pipe in addition

Now do X-pipe in place of the two H-pipes and it will be perfect

To me it’s perfect now.

Plus, I’ve said this before, When I removed mine originally they were on the garage floor for 45 minutes and I went to pick them up and put them in a box so I could leave and I burned my hands. I couldn’t believe the amount of heat that was still in those cans almost an hour later

Catalytic converters run extremely hot! lol

I would be interested to know if an owner in a state like CA has had any issues passing emissions testing with the secondary cats removed, along with whether it creates a ‘black flag’ condition at certain road courses that are OCD re: noise levels.

Newer cars don't go through the sniffer test. The smog tech does a visual inspection to make sure all smog components are not altered and then the ECU gets scanned for error codes. If all is clear, it will pass.

I’ll Check next time it’s up on a lift. Early next week to have the tyres switched back again.

Sounds just as good as stock but a tad louder at WOT. For a 100 bucks is not a bad deal at all...

I’ll make a video but I doubt it will convince anyone. Like I said it is a little louder but nothing crazy.

Ah I think I’ll pass. My dealer pulled the vacuum lines on my Ferrari so the baffles were always open. No charge. Nice improvement in sound.
