Oil catch can installed

Found oil in my charge pipes so I decided to install a catch can. Hopefully this will help reduce burnt oil on my intake valves.

Most catch cans are not very baffled internally and no manufacturer makes one for the GTS so I sourced a local guy to assemble this kit for me. This was a custom kit with quick release hose fittings and and quick release knob to remove the can to empty it quickly.

This kit was about two times the price of typical kits for other cars. The reason is because our engine uses 2 separate oil separators which requires a total of 6 hoses, 4 AN fittings, 2 AN tee fittings, 2 quick disconnect hose fittings into the can, custom quick release knob, custom brackets.

If you're interested I'll send you more info.

Below is a picture of the hoses and the AN fittings.

Are these cars suffering from contamination of the intake valves due to DI? I haven't heard either way, just trying to get some additional info.

If you haven't heard of valve issues, can you tell me the reason for installing the kit?

TIA,

Bish

Hey Bish, our engines are too new to know if carbon will build up on the back of our intake valves due to direct injection.

I was in the process of installing water methanol injection when I noticed a good amount of oil on my air intake tubes right at the pcv breather tubes inlets. The only way oil is there is because the factory oil separators are not 100% efficient which means the motor is inhaling oil.

I figure I address and minimize the issue now then worry about removing cylinder heads or walnut blasting which is a major operation.

Here are two good articles:

I am considering adding a meth kit as well. Can you share your thoughts on who you will be using? Right now the only plug and play I have found is Weistec.

I am using the Weistec kit as well, which is actually an AEM kit and it is far, FAR from plug and play. The only thing plug and play on that kit is they include a MAP adapter for the vacuum hose and the silicone charge pipes with the nozzles adapters. I'll do a more thorough write up later.
Here's what mine looks like now.
