Maintenance Costs
I'm looking to purchase a CPO AMG GT. I'd like to know how much should I expect to spend on annual maintenance. I'm a current MB owner and I'm familiar with the maintenance intervals with these vehicles however, I'd like to know more specific estimated costs for this particular vehicle. I have a very good indy mechanic who quoted me some costs for brake service, but I was blown away and certain he must be off a bit. I live in San Diego so this market isn't foreign for servicing this car. Thanks to any info given.

A MB CPO is a fantastic long term warranty program, so any issues that pop up you should use the dealership IMHO.
As for service, and if the car is sound you should only need maintenance once a year, unless perhaps it has a lot of miles. I'm guessing, but a typical annual service would be about $500-$600.
To change the brake pads you have to remove the calipers iirc, which of course will add labour to the cost, but as part of the CPO program the brakes should have been checked throughly and you should have plenty of pad material left. They may have even placed new pads as part of the inspection.
I'm having my independent shop change the oil and filter as we 'speak' so I'll let you know what they charged me when I pick up the car.
Ultimately with a 6 year/100K warranty you shouldn't have much to worry about.

Jeepers, this is a luxury sport car. If you have to worry about maintenance costs, this is not a car you should consider. Don’t live at the ends of your means.

Get a cheaper car. Pay for your healthcare , mortgage and food with the rest. Save some for retirement . It’s this Me too attitude that has put the financial burdens on this country . Everyone doesn’t need a fancy car, fancy house and fancy wife. Use the money for important things so you don’t have to cry that the government isn’t providing and the Rich aren’t doing their fair share.
If if this offends you, then I’ve done my job as a douchebag

its not a douchebag comment. Just reality. If you need to live paycheck to paycheck and need to watch pennies to float this car, then it’s the wrong car for you.

I left the Rolex at home and dressed down when we bought our last car, and the dealer still treated us like we made 500K a year and earned a client for life. It was our first time there and I've already referred other sales to him. Had he looked down on us he would've screwed himself this year and years down the road. But he chose to use tact and in doing so, found out he was spot on. I hope he's still enjoying the $300 bottle of Macallan I gave him as a thank you.
You very well may not be a douche, just try and use some tact. We don't have to fit the stereotype of a typical Benz driver lol.

I'm not arguing that fact, it's your lack of tact. I wouldn't have got to where I am acting like a pompous douche. I agree 100% with your sentiments on how some choose to live outside of their means, but I'd never judge a book by it's cover and risk offending someone I don't know for sure deserves it.

Cutter is a heart surgeon. Maybe his tact is different than you expect, but he’s entitled to express an opinion.

Interesting post; I have a hard time believing that thecutter64 is a heart surgeon doctor by seeing how he expressed himself. Is that how "educated" people with so call good "social status" talk to others? I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and be a douchebag if that person chose to lol.
Terefpat, thank you for your service! the AMG GT is a terrific car, but if you want to get the full flavor go for the AMG GTR. I bought the AMG GTC in JAN 2020 and trade it in for the AMG GTR late last year. Owned the 991.1 Turbo S, R8 V10 Plus, and the C7 Z06 in the past, the GTR is the best of the bunch for the price. GL with the buy

Also, IQ and EQ while offering a helping hand to each other can exist separately. One can be a heart surgeon and have zero empathy for the patient...might even make them better at that job.

This thread went off track fast. After owning c7 z06, Porsche gt3, mb -gts and now 2020gtr it's no different on other high end cars.
Imo Porsche seems more expensive to service.parts are just costly either brand.I just paid$150 for a front light bulb on a 18 lexus.don't over think it just enjoy the car and deal with every situation as it arises.

Yes Lexus was just out of warranty, parts are just incredibly expensive these days.
Last time I got the oil filter from Mercedes dealer the parts guy looked at me seriously and asked "your changing it yourself?" Like I was a odd person. That's how many dealers survived lately is cashing in on service.
