Ha those guys were a bit funny--- I LOL'd at the furnace grill part and how they kept popping the throttle to get the exhaust cracks.

I really love Porsche---- have had 8 iterations of the 911 (5 Turbo's or Turbo S's, C4S, GTS, and a GT3) with only great things to enjoy from each and every one based on when I got them. Arguably my favorite brand from a driver's perspective and daily application with performance/reliability.

I've had 930 Turbo, C4S, 997GT3, 991GT3, 997 TurboS, 991 Turbo...... true P-car guy, now went to the "dark side" and actually love my GTS. Want a GTR! Who'd a' thunk??

Well I cant say I dont love Benzes having had 11 AMG's but the sum of excitement and return divided by the amount of cars Ive owned for each yields a better return for Porsche- for me that is.

Bish, I assume you are talking about Porsche GT market? If so you are 100% right on. That was driving source to make me change brands to AMG GTS. I wanted the 4.0 GT3 from my preferred dealer, bought over 7 P-cars from them in 5 years, and they still wanted 25K ADM!

Porsche is solid and puts out consistent product. However, I've also owned multiple 911 iterations and I no longer find ownership that special. The GT3 is a beast but it looks just like a base Carrera and most laypeople would confuse it with a Cayman. Not that I care about others' opinions but there's something to be said about driving a car that's unique. 911s are a dime a dozen around here, a $200K 991 Turbo S is nothing special. I've only seen another GTS on 2 occasions both in black.
Furthermore, the 911 interior doesn't even come standard with full leather and the plastic bits and seatbacks cheapen the look while the GTS' interior is luxurious and the craftsmenship is impeccable.
I've always cherished my cars that are an "event" to drive. After almost 1 year of daily driving, my GTS still provides that experience. My GT3 not so much.

That's an unfortunate but not uncommon occurence in high demand markets. Simple law of supply vs demand. Ferrari plays the same game for their coveted models i.e. Pista except they are obligated by FNA to sell at MSRP. Instead, they will make you buy a Lusso/California or other less popular model first. Porsche simply adds the cash ADM on top of the MSRP, but the buyer is paying an ADM one way or another. Soon Porsche will be making GT buyers buy a Cayenne Turbo S or Panamera Turbo S E-hybrid first if they're not alreading doing so.

In many ways I’d normally agree with your statement except for one fairly recent caveat: the GT market is 100% broken, so that it is almost impossible to buy a GT variant at msrp. We can blame many of the dealers for this, but Porsche is also cupable by allowing it to exist and get worse every year.

Remember to all these were my thoughts based on my ownership experiences (I didnt apply pricing to those measurements). But I respect all opinions and can agree with Surfah as well as we both had GT3's and its not the most usable daily driver. I am though, enjoying my Porsche GTS just a bit more than my AMG GTS. I might be spoiled by the grip and rear engine bias but also maybe because I find myself using my E63S over my AMG GTS.
Maybe its time to drop the AMG off and get a GTC???

Well my statement was clearly based on the experiences Ive had with the cars and I 100% agree that pricing has ruined the GT models. I have been fortunate to have secured some good pricing via my contacts at PCNA over the years.

Seriously though the GTC is a fantastic variant also. You’d love either one Vic; although I would encourage you to drive a GTR before you decide. There are quite a few at dealers that no doubt would let you have a spirited test drive.
Although perhaps you want a ‘vert; in which case the decision is made.

Just go the whole way and get a GTR. Exchange the tyres for Corvette Z06 sized street tyres like MPSS or PS4s, lower the psi to 28 and boom!. An awesome Soutern CA daily driveable car. lol

Thats also an option or the GTC Non A which is the street ready version with less track touches of course. My regular dealer just got a Gray Magno GTR with irons... I might check it.

I'd like to hear your thoughts if you decide to drive one.

^Nice. I found the SC2s on my GT3 to have tons of road chatter and could feel every imperfection. Potholes made my teeth rattle. No experience of SC2s on other vehicles but the PS4s are more liveable day to tday.
