Ordered a 2019 Amg gtr
Have been lurking for a little while and found a lot of information on this forum. This is an awesome community and I wanted to introduce myself.
Haven’t received a PO for the 2019 car yet but I’m the first on their list for an allocation. I’m quite sure they’ll have an allocation as they had 7 amg gtr’s for 2018. For now the color will be the regular selenite gray and I plan to put matte PPF over it because I’m too chicken to deal with the real matte paint.
Anyways, all in good health!

That's actually a cool idea to not get matte paint and make it look matte with a protective coat.....I wish I would have gotten that damned PPF.

When I ordered my 2018 GTS , I put the order in June. I git allocation in September. The car was built in late Nov. I got the car in January. Got it covered with PPF in March. Drove it daily ever since.

Hello! New guy here so don’t beat me up too bad. I have been reading y’alls (southern boy) post for a while and it has been interesting funny and very helpful. I slapped some cash down on a 19 GTR in April of this year. (Retiring the Porsche first Merc) About a month later I was told the build date was July17th. Then around that time it was delayed. Now it is September 4th. They said the first batch of 2019’s would be around 30 units. Is this true? How long does it take to get the thing over here? I can’t wait to get my evil grubby hands on this thing.

suggestion reference matte ppf- go to a real good certified installer of suntek or xpel stealth
some installers will simply use the pre-cut template and the car will look okay too most people
a quality install will include removing mirrors, door handles, emblems, hood and fender vents....
I received two quotes, first guy around $5000 and the 2nd was twice that; first guy wasn't removing anything and lacked the attention to detail I would require

Not sure on production units, but 30 seems very low.

No I never got that 2018 the deal fell through. It was used and I wasn't supposed to have to pay sales tax on it, as it was private party, but turned out because it was on consignment I would have had to pay sales tax.
Figured I'd wait a few more months for a '19.

I ordered a special colour so they did pre warn me that the delay may be upto 10 weeks which meant it was at latest June. Come June they kept delaying it weekly until it reached July and I was fed up without explaination. I threatened to cancel the order (which I could within their terms and conditions) and they started to really panic because of the colour I ordered. They said the arrival date has now gone back to 4th September (which worries me because everyone’s seem to be that date) and they provided me with a new 2018 GTS until it arrives. I’ve enjoyed this car for the past 6 weeks but I do fear they are in a real mess in that factory

I am curious about do they ask u to to go easy on car until break in procedure at 1000 miles is complete?

tbh it had 500 miles on the clock but no they didn’t say anything, although I still respected the engine and waited until it reached 1000 until I put my foot down. They did say i have unlimited mileage though so I’ve racked up a fair few

Good for the next owner of car Im sure a lot of guys would have taken there frustrations out on the GTS
