So far,
What I love:
- The noise (from the way the starter sounds to the exhaust note)
- The noise
- The noise
- The power (A noticable increase over the GTs)
- The build quality and materials used (Not that the GTs was low quality but it did have a slight mass produced feel)
- The security alarm siren (accidentally set it off the other day, has a very cool high pitch European squeal)
- Carbon ceramics stop on a dime, I notice myself stopping 2 car lengths sooner than normal as I have to adjust from the GTs
What I do not:
- Downshift pattern when overtaking (This will probably correct over time as I have already noticed an improvement with miles. It has a very lack luster downshift if you romp it on the side streets. highway has improved, it was going from 7th to 6th and now goes 7th to 4th. Best bet to make a good pull is manual mode)
-Suspension feel over parking lot speed bumps (has a strange vagueness like something is loose but I have been assured it is normal. Feels exceptional at all other times so not too concerned)
-Remote fob range (It's literally 5 feet)
-No keyless go
-Bluetooth interface is not as seemless or quick as the GTs
The GTs was a much easier supercar and the F12 requires so much more attention, but that sound... Incredible

There are tunes available, no real mention of shift pattern changes but does have a potential 80hp increase. I will have to research a bit deeper. More power is not necessary. I would only be interested if it adjusted downshifts.

Nice pics. Can't beat the Ferrari sound, so unique. High pitched scream at WOT, aggressive barks when downshifting manually.
To this day, 458 Spider the best car I've owned.
I always drove my F-cars in Race and Bumpy Road modes. Never had an issue with downshifting, I guess because I was always in manual mode

Just bumping this a bit...
Boardwalk Ferrari just reduced the price on my old GTs to $92,995.
Seems like a pretty good price considering everything already done to it

I have owned quite a few Ferrari's, and I am now looking at a F12. I can remember when even changing the wheels on a Ferrari was considered a no go, but things have changed a the newer group of Ferrari owners (the F1 and DCT transmissions opened the door for many new owners) who seem to like to do modifications to their cars. I have modified most of mine, but I have known my local dealer for a long time and they are very flexible when it comes to what I do to cars (they also work on other makes for me), but not all dealers are. My advise see what your dealer thinks about doing any type of mods. There is a company called 1016 industries that make a transmission flash that speeds up the shifts (depending on the car up to 28% faster). I have used this on a 4C and it does work and with a throttle controller it really makes a huge difference. I cannot vouch for this company (my transmission flash came from another source) , so you will need to proceed with caution. My neighbor has a FF, and I bought a 2015 Calf T (with under 2K miles) about a month ago.

It appears they make the Flash for the AMG as well. One word of caution, these Flash tunes mate to only one ECU which means that once you install it, it only works with your car. I did speak to the owner, and at first he offered me a units to try out (for my 430). He changed his mind when he found out more about who I am (at first he said he would need his lawyers to draw up something so I could not reproduce his product), and my background. He stopped taking my calls so I gave up. The unit I bought for the 4C was $500, the units for Ferrari's and the AMG are 2 and 3 times that cost. I checked on Ferrarichat and no one had heard of his company, but he told me he sells mostly to dealers who then offer it to customers. Sounded a bit fishy to me, since he would not give me the name of any dealers either. I'm not sure if it was because he was afraid I would try to steal his business, or they don't exist. I am not saying do not do it, but I feel it is important that anyone who contacts them knows what I experienced.

I bet the lack of carbon is reflected in the asking price, however, I wonder how much the delta is, considering the initial saving in purchase price ?

He set me up with AIG private client group, worked out to be cheaper than what I was paying for the AMG and it is an agreed value policy. The only exclusion is no drivers under 25.
