New gtc owner
hi all we brought a gtc and wow what a ride. Two questions. The drivers seat belt retracts slowly if it kind of gets jammed into the seat guide. Is this the recall that has not been done on our car? Question two. There is a small plastic air direction strip that is at the bottom front of the car. It is riveted on and half of the strip has come out of its rivets. Is this something anyone has dealt with. It looks to me that it simply needs rivets with wide heads the securely hold the plastic strip.

I had my seat belts fixed through the recall. The dealer butchered the repair work on the driver's side and I have been in three times to have the work done properly. I still have "buckling" of the leather on the driver's seat right where my back rests on the seat. (The dealer broke the loop device when it first tried to fix the belt issue and apparently had to go into the seat itself to repair that problem.) As soon as my dealer has the parts I'm going in for a fourth try.

Congrats on the car Pix?
Have the dealer look into the two issues you mention. Those rivets if they are on the front spoiler area and normally not seen may have been damaged in transport. Get it checked ASAP so that the dealership doesn't try to blame you for the damage!

My dealership doesn't even have the part for the belt tensioner recall. Thankfully I have no issue with belt retraction.
MalibuScott, what a PITA! How competent is your service department?
I take my GTS in for it's first annual service next week.

That's inexcusable especially that discomfort your experiencing as a consequence of their shoddy work. Hope my service department doesn't mess up like yours.

The guy that runs the service department, roger.ullen@calabasasmbz.net is by far the worst service department I’ve had to work with, their after sales sucks. Find another competent dealer ASAP. I would not go there is my life depended on it. Rather switch to BMW if they were the last Mercedes dealer in SoCal.

(Years ago, when the dealership also had Cadillac, Volvo and Nissan, I put together a group of investors to buy it from its then-owner. After we cracked the books we passed. Since then the other car franchises were sold or ended and it's now all MBZ. I should have remembered that. Since then two large dealerships have owned the store. I think the current owners may now be making money. But it used to be very poorly run.)

It is my friend, it’s owned by Autonation and it is still poorly run by it’s new owner. If there is any other dealer close by, just take it there to save yourself for another return and wast of time and gas. Worst dealer experience for me, ever. Just want to save a fellow member the headache.

Thank you all. I did end up re attaching the front splitter strip. Just used fasteners with larger heads than the original rivets.

Link to a short video I took of car.
oh we just got the Weatherteck for liners and they are in the video. They fit nice. Now if I could find sill protectors. My c4 Corvette had them and they worked great.
