so on the street not track, the GTR is faster than a GTC?? The hp bump is negligible right?

Yea unless your at the track or doing higher speeds in corners sweepers .. I dont think the GTR will be much faster than a GTC.. 27hp.. not sure what they would be on the same dyno, same day, same temps

Track would be a different story..

have a white on red GTC and a blue GTR coming GTR I can't do much if anything though.. those are gonna be super tough to get from here on out

can you send me some pics of the white/red GTC? I may have someone interested. Or is that GTC en route (couldn’t tell by the way you phrased it...whether it was just the GTR that was on its way or both).

Slightly OT, but after feeling throttle (never turbo) lag in my '16 GTS and installing a tune, it's gone. And as for hp/torque, unless tracking, how much more than a tuned GTS will one ever use on the street? Aesthetics are a different matter and I'd have to agree that the GTC coupe is the sweet spot. VIC, given your proposenity to swap, I wonder if the GTC will be enough of a difference and likely short lived? Seems P is whispering in your ear again.

I think Vic has a cacophony of car brands whispering in his ears at all times! Seems like a guy with women on the rotor. One for Monday night from 10-12. Another for midnight to 3:00....And then a new round for the rest of the days of the week! Not to say the dude's promiscuous

But I can’t get a GSM to email me back on a RR SVR. Anyone here have a contact?

I like to know comparos regarding:

1. chassis feedback in regards to suspension

Chassis feedback in the GTC is excellent with the top down - better than the GTR. EXTERNAL CUES from the close connection to the environment are hard to describe in terms of the extra fun factor in driving with the top down.

2. steering

Really, really good in the GTC. It floats around corners from the ,idle,of the car and al,ost predicts what you are going to do. No oversteer or understated - just reliable laser precision.

3. exhaust

GTC with the top down is incomparable to any other GT. NEVER gets old. I don’t even bother with the radio.

4. grip from a dig

Amazing grip from a dig. Launch control is addictive and amazing to experience with the top down.

5. high speed grip in big turns and lower speed sharp turns

Tends to fishtail a bit on sharper high speed corners until TC catches up - but it always does. Drifting in race mode is an unbelievable experience with the top down. Smells, bad, but you can outrun the smoke. Just expensive to replace tires every couple of weeks.

6. braking shockingly smooth and efficient. I almost never brake because of paddle shifting down - and use brakes only for dead stops....but the braking is amazing. Capable of stopping almost dead even at higher speed.

Yea I dont get the loss of love on the cabs really.. the GTC cab is amazing

Ive tracked several convertibles and love the smell, extra sound, wind when performance driving..

I still have my selenite 2018.. I offered someone a monster deal and they ended up buying a SL I had.. but only because I told him it was better for him..which it was honestly.. GTC cab= Sports car... SL= Grand Touring

I spent several driving sessions in the GTS, GTC Coupe, GTC Roadster and the GTR over four days this past June during the AMG Emotion Tour in Europe. We aggressively drove mountain passes for 6 - 8 hours a day. In total, I probably had about 6 hours in the GT variants and like others here found the GTC to be the favorite and would be my recommendation. Moreover, the Roadster was just a killer ride with the top down. Definitely a step up from the GTS with the power upgrade and the rear wheel steering, but not as brutish as the GTR. If I had to take one home from the trip, it would have been this Obsidian Black one with the Macchiato Beige interior - just a beauty!

Here are a few pictures - also threw in one of a S63 Yellow Night Edition - not something you see every day.
