GTR break in miles

Salesman mentioned the car changes behavior and wakes up after the initial 1000 miles. Do any actual changes occur with the ECU? They made it sound like things may be governed until you hit the magic 1000 miles.

IMNSHO that's BS. Just behave yourself until 1000 miles...following the specific instructions for break-in in the owner's manual. Nothing changes in the computers at 1000 miles. The manufacturer's recommendation for ideal engine durability and breaking in is 1000 miles. They've found that if people take it easy for the first 1000 miles there are overall better long term results, fewer problems and better performance. Some people ignore that altogether and seem to have fine results. But why not follow it? My 2 cents.

Haha, not sure it wakes up lol.. but as Cali John says, you should not WOT before 1000 miles, do launches, track etc... be easy for the 1st 1000 miles.. then you can be aggressive so technically would be hard to tell even if it did lol
