Amg tracks!
Hi guys,
I just bought a 2016 Amg GTS, does anyone have any infomation about tracks app inregards to Amg GTS? MThe one I have doesn’t work! Also the iPhone app for track pack is not available on apple store anymore!
Is it an option to have track pack on this car? Is there any way to upgrade infotainment system to get those options ?

I use my Aim Solo DL on track with my AMG GTS every time I take it on track. It plugs into the OBD port and gives you laptimes, best lap, predictive lap which is a very useful feature while lapping, and then you can download all data to your PC and use their software called Race Studio 2 to analyze the data in as much detail as you want. It is a fantastic data logger, much much better than the phone app ones. Aim loggers are used by pro race teams. I see many people at track days who use the same unit, and all swear by it. It works on my Nissan GT-R and it worked on my Corvette C7. If you want video with it, you have to buy their Smarty Cam HD. I don't use video much, as I like to see the data logger charts on a large screen and compare laps and sectors, throttle pedal usage, lateral and longitudinal g's, speed, etc. Unit is very useful as it knows all the tracks and there is not a single button to push since it knows the start line from its built in track maps. Just turn it on and start lapping and not a single other thing to do. You don't need to download any data to see your laptimes on the unit as you drive, and you never need to touch the unit while driving. It gets power from the OBDII port, so you have to disconnect it or it will drain the battery even if it is off.

The one thing I miss greatly from my Z06 is the PDR; (Performance Data Recorder), which when combined with the Cosworth ‘Toolbox’ is a fantastic and idiot prof way to loo at/record lap times, etc. If GM can install this in their sports car, you’d think MB/AMG would be able to.

MB and others are getting more into it... I think when we had the Nissan GTR's the manual said taking the car to a track voided the warranty ..My center screen went out and they tried to blame it on me for adding an exhaust and tracking the car lol

AMG app does use the cars gps (10hz) so you don’t need an external one like with Harry’s.
