Completed A1 10000 mile service
Just finished the 10000 A1 service on the GTC. I have the say it’s very straightforward as stated in the excellent maintenance post. Doing the oil chance is different (but not hard). Inspecting the belts are best from bottom of car with covers loosened.
Quite frankly it it did not take long....

yea and roughly 30 min to warm the engine to 100C temp before drain.
I did learn one thing. Put the catch pan under the oil tank on a 4x4 so its lifted up towards the car. My car was about 13" above the pan and it came gushing out and made a bit of a mess.
Also did learn something else. There is a large carbon fiber x brace that runs down the center of the car on the bottom. There is a lot of body bonding glue they used, and lastly there is a surprising amount of unused space around the oil tank region on either side of the bottom of the car.
If anyone wondering how I got the car up to do the change. I used the floor jack with a socket to interface with the jack pad. I then placed the car on top of a cinder block with a 4x4 on top of the cinder block. So that lifted the car about 11".
I know some people said in the earlier post its easier to take it to the dealer and that is totally ok. I am just a gal that has no issue reading the directions and doing the work myself so I learn something and hey I got to see that really pretty carbon fiber x brace...
By the way I do all the maintenance on our S600 Maybach as well.
