I'm all for expanding but I always figured that the GT would be excluded... I guess not.

Certainly not good. First thing that comes to mind is the F-Type

They couldn’t leave the GT alone. Soon you’ll see a four cylinder beast lol. There goes the advertisement of being a total car built by AMG when they put these regular production engines in. Someone needs to start a class action for false advertising lol.

I mean..I dunno, does a mustang GT350R owner care about the 2.3 ecoboost mustang? nope..

I used to get mad when people like Porsche made suv's and sedans... as long as I know the money goes to building badder meaner sports cars, then Im ok with it

this is the typical response to AMG polluting the brand. What happened to all the hype/advertising about this car being hand built by AMG? I’m sure they’ll continue to BS people telling them these engines are tuned by AMG lol. What ever that means.

It’s just not AMG it’s the whole company these days. Since when could someone with Subaru money walk into a MB dealership and buy a new car.

Your comparing mustang with AMG this is how low the brand has sunk. Also, are they calling these mustangs with the eco boost engines the gt350r. Nope.

It's not just AMG, either. BMW's M has been diluted as well to a bunch of accessories and a milquetoast tuning option. At least Audi differentiaties between its "S" and "RS" sub-brands.

100% correct with Bmw maybe even worse than AMG, if that’s possible.

I'm waiting for the turbo inline four-banger. That will hold value until they release the "Black Series" GT35.

I heard this new "Black Series" GT35 will break current Nurburgring Lap Record holder.

Drive safe,

Same nonsense about AMG polluting the brand. AMG likely makes the most money with the bread and butter C-Class just like Porsche making the most money with their SUV's. I have not seen either brand suffer.
Having a smaller engine GT is just like a base 911. Looks nice but slower than molasses

They may not suffer, in fact I'm sure they will sell more. It removes any exclusivity the model had.

Meh BMW is worse slaps the M badge on everything, X1 M sport B.S..

Porsche owners cried sky is falling when Cayenne and Macan came out, Panamera is ugliest luxury sedan ever. Guess what Porsche still killing it . Mad ADMs for .2 GT3 RS and GT2 RS they will sell every one built. Taycan will crush Tesla.

yup.. I just think as long as it keep the ability for better cars to come out.. if a 53 version helps pay for a Black edition then its a win...

I do question whether we would sell a 6 cyl GT though would still be 100k new

Maybe they will make a gearshift version, I had two F type R's among the worst cars I have ever owned. Big fat pig, with fake noise and numb steering. Gave it to my girlfriend she gave it back, told me what a piece of crap I want a real sports car. But the smaller engine with the manual transmission is still not a sports car, but it is a much better balanced car. I just picked up an M4 (I rarely go more than 3 months without buying a car and it is a handful with the traction controls off) and I think the AMG is very much like the California T, misunderstood and under appreciated. MB bought a lot of GT back, some had real problems, other were bought by old fat guys who thought they were buying a hardtop SL. I owned my first Porsche before some of you were probably born, and for 45 years I have owned at least one. Do I like what happen to the brand, no but people say the car business and it is a business Porsche is still in business not because of the 911 (if they have not come up with the Boxster, Cayenne etc they would be long gone) Lamborghini is making a SUV, Ferrari will soon follow suit, (only a matter of time before Lotus, AM & McLaren join them) it does not make their sports cars less appealing, but it does mean they will likely still be in business In 10 years. You people do not know who I can and probably do not care but after 460 cars, and designing parts that are been used on cars for the last 25 years I have learned a lot, and taught others. Yes I am autistic and almost never travel more than 10 miles from my house, I rarely sleep and my mind can do thing no normal persons can. Some forums except me and ask for my advise (Ferrarichat 4C forum, Lotus, Bimmerpost) others don't get what I am and think I am somehow bragging, which if you knew anything about autistic people you would know we don't even understand what that is, I know things about cars and I will gladly share, that knowledge with other members or I will leave. I don't have feelings either so no matter what you say it will not effect me. I will either see you as smart or not.

I’m not the one selling these cars as being the second car hand built by AMG. They did! I guess that claim just left the building lol. Keep buying, It’s your business and money.

no not a win. They just took what was special about this car and crapped on it. You think that doesn’t hurt the BS car as well as increased depreciation of the GT cars they have sold. You’ll have to explain to me how this is a win.
