Date of next facelift for the GT Line?

The GT line received a small facelift with the Panamericana grill, but is there any other facelift (even if it's just the interior) coming up? I'm thinking of upgrading from my GT S but I don't want to buy a car only to see an improved version arrive months later.

Mid-cycle facelift is happening now. Intro before the end of this year with deliveries commencing in April 19. I would definitely wait...

In typical fashion, light front/rear fascia changes
new headlights/taillights
Quad pipes
Likely a digital dash (a la C-Class), Comand updates and the usual software updates. Touchpad?
Likely a light bump in HP across all models

There’s always going to be an upgrade . Even if you get the new one, another version will come out shortly thereafter .

Just get it when you’re ready .

Do you know if there will be a entry level version with the I6? GT R Roadster?

The GTR is supposed to be out in mid 2019. I assume that the intro would be at the same time of all facelift models.
I have only seen the i6 info on the mentioned sites and here. I think this would be later release if AMG does it. It takes more development to put in a different engine/tranny.

Either way, it starts to feel that AMG wants to grow the AMG GT platform to be spread as wide as Porsche's 911. From lowly Carrera to Turbo S plus track variants

There have been reports that a GT R ‘Roadster’ will be released, but why anyone would buy one versus the GT C is beyond me.

Recent reports of a base version of the GT with the I6 engine also iirc.

I have the chance to buy an Edition 50 GTC which I absolutely love, and at the same time, it wouldn't hurt too much to wait for the new facelift... but I'm craving that Ed50 so bad! Tough choice ...

Yes, if you try to wait until exactly the right time you will never end up with one.

In 2001 there was a long list to buy the new CL55. Because my then wife was a well known and beloved English actress and European model (who had been in a long running campaign for VW in Europe), she got me to the top of the list for the new model. The car arrived in September. (Unfortunately, September 11th, which took all the fun out of it.) A few months later I'm finally enjoying the car when Mercedes announces the 2002 will have about 100 more HP and be turbocharged.

I don't think there is one right answer. If you like the Edition 50 package, go for it. If anything, the leverage improves with the current model being superseded and the rarity of the Edition models don't really translate to any lasting value over non-edition models.
If the upcoming changes are important to you (Digital dash, improved Comand, CarPlay, etc.) then wait. If they create more power in the engine with the updated turbos like on the GT 4 door, it may also be worth the wait. The cosmetics otherwise are just in the eye of the beholder.
The deals for existing models will definitely improve as we speak. Good time of the year, especially in cold weather states

what Wolf said is very true... I find that as I approach 50 I’m less and less tolerant of technology. It’s almost like I’ve hit peak tech lol. I am moving back into a GT from an E because I want something simpler and more involved. I’ve had CarPlay. Now, if you need me, call me lol I’m happy without all the connectivity... I just want to drive...

Up in Toronto there are some great discounts on the few remaining cars in inventory...
