GT4 wing
Does anyone know where the GT4 wing can be purchased? Or is anyone making copies?
Here's a GTR with the GT4 wing installed-

No pic?
The GT4 parts seem incredibly hard to get hold of, you need a VIN to access the online ordering system. All of the race teams I've contacted have been unwilling/unresponsive.

I'm sure we'll be able to get the PRO wing easily, but it's going to be a fortune.

I’d certainly take a GT4 wing at any sensible price. I’ve also seen Tikt.de do a wing for the GTR that’s quite ACR like, suites the car well but I’d rather the real MB item.

Man thanks for the Tikt.de link, but it's the worst site of all time. LOL. No info for any of their products. But I emailed them, I'll update here if they respond!

I asked some german friends about them and apparently they have a good reputation for corvette tuning in Germany. So one would hope the parts are good.

This guy has the GT4 canards, splitter and wing. I didnt get a response from them via instagram. I am still waiting for my local raceshop to answer because they have a customer who had a GT4 but sold it. Still waiting to hear if they can get parts.

For those of you thinking of placing a larger rear wing on the car for track/handling purposes, here’s some food for thought:
My last two track weekends, I ran with the OEM rear wing at it’s greatest angle of attack. I certainly noticed some pretty good understeer when using the OEM SC2s on track. This understeer was markedly reduced when I went with the larger, stickier MPSC2 ZP tyres.
So I ‘think’ that by increasing grip/downforce at the rear, and it definitely seemed to help in that regard, I was unbalancing the front somewhat by actually reducing downforce in that area. Porsche mentions to owners of the GT3 RS that if they increase downforce at the rear by increasing the wing angle, they should remove two small extensions behind both front wheels to increase downforce at the front to keep everything balanced.
The ‘Pro’ takes care of this by having a larger front splitter and the canards to enhance downforce at the front, but our cars don’t have those options.
Bottom line: think carefully about what might be happening at the front of a GT R when you increase downforce at the rear by a larger wing, etc.
This only applies on a road course of course, it’ll have no effect on the street except perhaps at autobahn speeds! lol

Something I am also considering is getting a gurney flap custom built. Basically to have the F1 safety car set-up.

I’ve only ever suffered from understeer on medium/low speed corners in the GTR. In those places it’s more about mechanical grip than aero.
Where I’ve wanted more rear aero is high speed corners like Abbey at Silverstone. I’ve had some scary moments there!
Happy to play around with this stuff, it’s all part of the fun.

BTW: on those really fast sweepers I do think you’d notice the rear settle more with the wing at its maximum angle. Certainly all of the GT Rs at the AMG Academy here in the States have the wing adjusted that way.

Re Gurney Flap , i'd imagine you'll be able to buy this part from MB for the standard GTR.

Yeah I rechecked my wing and its a couple of degrees off max. I can't believe there's no information about a movable part on the car. I must admit I set it to what seemed sensible and haven't adjusted since.

Yes, so you'll need to wait for the PRO to arrive to get hold of it. Having said that, a gurney flap is a simple thing, if you really want one you just need a plastic strip with the right profile.

I'm also looking for the GT4 wings - they seem to be the perfect upgrade to the rear downforce compared to the small "spoiler" GTR/pro has.
Has anyone successfully found out a source to order?

I was able to source a wing from Germany. It took me about 1.5 years before I was able to source it.

Many thanks to the help from Mariano, I was able to connect with a source and got a GT4 wing for my PRO recently. I have to say it does make a significant difference on the rear downforce while keep the OEM look well. Really love it!!
